Sneaky Virgin Mobile charges

Virgin Mobile has a feature called Virgin Xtras. If you activate this, they hit you with a 10 cents per day charge. Somehow, this got turned on, and was giving me this charge dating back to Feb 3rd, 51 days. I called to complain, telling them I never asked for the feature (which I didn't), and they weren't going to refund my money. After standing firm on my side of the story up the supervisor chain, I got my way and they gave me the $5.10 credit. Watch that this doesn't happen to you if you subscribe to Virgin Mobile phone services.

Costco's great return policy

Costco's return policy flat out Rules! Our 2 year old JVC digital camcorder crapped out, and since we bought it at Costco, they'll let me return it for a full refund. I can't think of any other store with a policy that gracious. Instead of getting it fixed for what might cost $200, or buying a new one for another $300-400, we'll just go get a new one after we return the bad one. Probably not a JVC this time, how can it break that soon? Plus it didn't even get dropped or anything, just go to use it last weekend and find it shows a fuzzy screen in record mode.

MS Walk - May 7, 2006

The walk this year is set for May 7th, also falling on Bonnie's birthday. If history is correct, that means it will rain. Hopefully it will hold off in the morning and we can complete the walk staying dry. Ben is going to join us this year for his first time on the walk. We're going to only do the shorter 2.5 mile section so Ben is able to come, he would never sit in his stroller for 8 miles.

Our pledge website is now open, please visit and make your online donation. If you feel compelled to join our team and raise some money yourself, we'd love to have you along for the fun.

I HATE robot phone menus

I can't stand to call customer service for products or healthcare issues. It drives me nuts going thru these insane voice recognition menus, where you go round and round trying to get to a live person for help. It doesn't matter what company you call in anymore, almost all of them use this technology to cut costs and "improve quality". It may do both, but at what expense to the customer experience, isn't that worth anything to them?

Goodbye Kirby

Thanks for all the great memories and two World Series you were part of while playing for the Twins. You were an amazing hitter, center fielder, and leader in the clubhouse. This season will without a doubt be played in your honor. God Bless you and your family on this sad day in Minnesota.

Craig and Angie's adoption

Our friends Craig and Angie are trying to adopt a baby. In order to help in that process, they wanted to make a website. Last week they called asking for my expertise, and I was more than happy to assist them in creating a web presense to improve their chances toward adopting their first child. Please keep them in mind if you hear/know of any woman who is pregnant and considering adoption, they will be exceptional parents! Visit their new site for more info at www.craigandangieadoption.com

SNL "Lazy Sunday" video and rivals

About a month ago, Saturday Night Live showed a new digital video short called "Lazy Sunday: The Chronicles of Narnia Rap". I watched it like 3 times on our Tivo before deleting it. Somehow it has caught on big time across the internet, and now others are making their own similar videos, sort of like the East vs West coast rap wars.

Here are the links to each of these hilarious videos:
1) Original SNL "Lazy Sunday"

2) West Coast "Lazy Monday"

3) Midwest "Lazy Muncie"
