Hot temp icon in the Forecastfox plugin

When a really HOT day is in store, look for the red colored thermometer icon if you have the Forecastfox plugin installed in your Firefox browser. I bet everyone in the US will see this during the summer if they haven't already. It's the first time I noticed the new icon instead of the standard sunny day icon.

Clarion Hotel network mess

Clarion Hotel network mess

I found this mess of cat 5 cables under the desk in my Bethesda, MD Clarion Hotel room last month. However, the free high speed internet access worked great, so who's complaining.

Radio Free Minnesota coming back

My favorite radio talk show host Jason Lewis is offically coming back to the local airwaves after his 3 year stint in Charlotte NC. His show starts Aug 7 on 100.3 KTLK. I included the story below from the 7/17 Star Trib...
On another local radio note, I just read that the Twins are moving to AM1500 next season after a lifetime of broadcasts on WCCO. Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes are takin' place.

Conservative radio talker Jason Lewis will make his reentry into Twin Cities airwaves Aug. 7, when he debuts on KTLK (100.3 FM). Lewis will take over the 5 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday time slot currently occupied by Brian Lambert and Sarah Janacek.

Lewis left his top-rated KSTP (1500 AM) talk show in 2003 for a station in Charlotte, N.C. He already has moved back to the Twin Cities, but said Monday that he'll be going "back and forth" to his old station for the next few weeks, broadcasting either in Charlotte, or from Clear Channel's office in St. Louis Park.

He described his coming KTLK show as "nothing fancy, just the same old 'Radio Free Minnesota.' "

No word on what will happen to the liberal Lambert and conservative Janacek, whose stormy on-air exchanges have created some intriguing radio moments.

What NOT to put in the new Twins stadium

Please I beg of the designers of the new Twins stadium, do not replicate what they did in Houston in center field. That hill and flag pole are completely ridiculous. Thank you!

Election Judge

The past few years I've considered working as an election judge, but I never committed. Well, this year I'm officially going to help facilitate at the general elections on Nov 7th. I just got a call and will work the 6am to 2pm shift at Grace Fellowship in Brooklyn Park. This is my first time and I'm excited to try this new venture. The first step is a training session at the end of August and I'll blog again then.

Cool new photo site - Tabblo

Once in a while, I try to catch up on Walt Mossberg's technology articles. He writes for the Wall Street Journal, and his June 21 article is about a new photo service that caught my eye. It's called Tabblo, and looks like a great new site with plenty of cool functionality (Web 2.0 / AJAX) to alleviate the browser refresh problem that we are all so accustomed to on the Web.

Vote for my picture!

I entered a photo contest at Shutterfly, for best 4th of July picture. There are many wonderful shots better than this, but show some love and vote for mine, a picture of the post-game fireworks at Kaufman Stadium!

NOTE: As of July 18th the contest is over. I changed the link above to go directly to my fireworks picture.

Here is the link to the photos of my visits to Camden Yards and Kaufman Stadium.
