2007 MS Walk a big success

We had a very successful MS Walk on Sunday, May 6. My team raised a grand total of $2175, a new record for us, breaking our goal of $2000. I raised a personal best of $1505, just beating my goal of $1500. It really feels good to continue to help this great cause in honor of my mother, Barbara. My team "Walk for Barb" met our goal and couldn't have done it without all the support of family and friends. Thank to all, and we'll do it again next year.

Get a free domain checkup

My employer, Secure Computing, launched a new service last week. Domain Health Check will generate a report that provides a snapshot of your domain's security reputation as it pertains to web and email traffic. Reputation scores are calculated based on behavior data captured in real-time by Secure Computing's TrustedSource(TM) reputation service. Like a credit score, a reputation score indicates whether a site is in good standing, or if it may have been compromised and is being used in nefarious ways. As part of the report, participants will receive remediation tips that serve as a starting point for further action. Get started on your Domain Health Check today!

Castle Rock golfing in Mauston, WI

On Sunday, I played with some friends at Castle Rock Golf Course in Mauston, WI. This is a wooded course, with a good share of water and sand traps. Many of the holes are cut right through the woods, with big pines lining both sides of the fairways. We only had time for the front 9, on our way back from the Twins game (which they won 5-2!) at Miller park on Saturday. But based on how nicely it played and average rates, the course is a thumbs-up and worth a round of 18.

Cold Stone's website woes

I submitted the following rant about my bad experience today on their site. I'm amazed at the rather shoddy site a well known franchise company like this has. I love their ice cream and they have a great birthday club, so it's not like I'm going to stop going to their store. I really just want to make them aware of these flaws and get them corrected quickly. We'll see how they respond.

You have two major web site issues, and an unfriendly person answering your corporate phone. Here they are, you better fix this stuff, makes your company look bad in my opinion.

1) store locator is broken.

Error dialog: The Google Maps API key used on this web site was registered for a different web site. You can generate a new key...

2) customer service page to report a problem gives very weird error.

3) I called 480-362-4800, spoke to Janette, and she was rather rude about trying to help me locate a store in my zip code. I tried to tell her about issue #1, and she didn't seem to care. I would consider this a crucial issue you should fix on your site asap.
Good luck.
