Philips HDD6330 car charger at last

I skipped the iPod bandwangon and got this Philips 30 GB mp3 player last year. It fits my needs perfectly, but lacks one important add on, a car charger. In fact, it is drastically limited in what extra accessories you can buy. There seem to be thousands of "things" you can get for an iPod including: cases, docking components, karaoke, fm transmitters, the list goes on. This is not the case with my Philips, I found that none of those exist. However, today I was pumped to find a company, Gomadic, that makes a bunch of extras for the Philips and a wide range of others. This is the product I just ordered, a combo car and wall outlet charger . This way I can listen on long road trips, and keep the extra wall charger at work. Sweet!

Fat Tire for sale in the Twin Cities

Fat Tire For James
Originally uploaded by Yayagirls.
I was at a friend's party last weekend, and was pleasantly surprised by some great news. Fat Tire beer is now for sale in the Twin Cities metro area. For now, you can only buy it in these larger 22oz bottles, but who cares. This beer has always been my favorite when I've taken ski trips out west to Colorado, Montana, or Wyoming. Until now, they've never distributed it to the midwest that I'm aware of. But as of last week, the smooth amber ale beer is available at many stores, such as MGM. I picked up a 12 pack case tonight on sale at Fridley Liquors next to Cub for $43.59 after tax. It's chilling in the fridge now, mmmmmm.

Ben's ECFE class

Ben's ECFE class
Originally uploaded by webdh.
Ben loved his Tuesday evening ECFE class this past spring which ended in May. Here's a picture on the last day of class. We highly recommend this program to parents. It's great of the kids to get interaction and learn new skills. At the same time, parents learn about timely topics such as behavior, sleeping, eating, art, strangers, etc.

I Became A Soldier

My Dad wrote this poem and read it as part of the Memorial Day program on May 28, 2007. The event takes place at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial at the St. Paul capitol building grounds. He belongs to Chapter 470 Anoka County Vietnam Veterans of America, who sponsor this annual program. He wrote one last year too, here is the link. My dad has really blossomed into quite the poet since my Mom's passing.

I Became A Soldier
I became a soldier, when my Nation first called.
The task at hand was divisive for all.

Some were drafted, others volunteered.
No matter the reason, at times we all feared.

Ordinary young people from city and farm.
Quickly changed to soldiers, often subjected to harm.

They sent us to places, with names hard to say.
Back in "the world", our families would pray.

We didn't have Email, nor cell phones at all.
The best part of resupply was always mail-call.

We read all your letters, and kept them at hand.
On dark lonely nights, we read them again.

We liked all the photos and goodies from home.
They helped us remember we were never alone.

You were always with us, though not by our side.
Our purpose was noble, full of honor and pride.

For freedom and justice are the values we all know.
But another generation now fights to keep it so.

Yes, I became a soldier, when my Nation first called.
We all gave some.....Remember those who gave all.
