About Traci

Jian & Traci Hi!  Welcome to my playroom.  Would you like to know a little bit about me?  I've graduated from Rutgers University in scenic, downtown Camden, NJ. I have a degree in English and I am currently writing my first book.  In addition, I am an alumnus of Camden County College, Blackwood NJ where I graduated with my A.S.   I earn a paycheck as a pharmacy technician; it's union, and it pays my bills! At left is a picture of me taken on New Year's Eve '98 with a member of my favorite band, Moxy Früvous. I'm the one on the right, in case you were wondering.

Anyways, Welcome and Enjoy!

Career

Career I am currently taking a well deserved break from studying at Rutgers. My short term goals are to enjoy myself this summer, work for my M.A., get a real job, and start making some $$$!  My long term goal is to either teach English at the collegiate level, or become a professional writer. I already have experience tutoring students in writing skills. I was going to say more, but I just realized that I've already summed up my career hopes by stating that I'd like to start making some $$$. Who said idealism is dead?

Hobbies

My various interests include: HockeyHockeyandmoreHockey! Seriously, I am a HUGE fan of the Philadelphia Flyers, and I hope they get yet another chance to win the Stanley Cup this year (I seem to say this every year of course). I also enjoy collecting autographed Flyers' memorabilia. My favorites are my signed Brind'Amour and Desjardins sticks (thanks for everything John, including the games!). Check out the official web page of the NHL and get Cup Crazy!

In March '97 I was in the beautiful city of Toronto during my spring break. I highly recommend a visit there to anyone. I stayed in a suite at the Town Inn Hotel in downtown Toronto. My week was packed as I visited the CN Tower, the Hockey Hall of Fame and went shopping at the incredible Eaton Centre. Of course the Flyers played the Leafs at Maple Leaf Gardens while I was visiting Toronto, and I got the chance to attend the game and be a loud, rude, out-of-town fan :) The Flyers won the game, Eric Lindros scored 4 goals, and I had a great time!

No mention of Toronto, or Moxy Früvous is complete without mentioning my other favorite Torontonian band, The Arrogant Worms. Comedy combined seamlessly with music and tight harmonies. Who could ask for anything more? Check out their Official Dirtpile by clicking on the worms at right. I love these guys.

Some of my favorite contemporary authors include: Robert Jordan, Terry Brooks (Shannara), Dean R. Koontz, Margaret Atwood, Jean M. Auel (The Clan of The Cave Bear), and Douglas Adams (The Hitchhikers Trilogy: Don't Panic!)

I also love art, especially French Impressionism. Here is a link to the Philadelphia Museum of Art. My favorite artist is Claude Monet. Among my favorite of Monet's works (and the ones I have prints of) are his Waterlilies, and his Garden at Giverny. Check them out! Also, here is a link to some nice fantasy art by Keith Parkinson.
