Bedford Trails Committee

The Bedford Trails Committee, a sub committee of the Bedford Conservation Commission was created in March of 2004. The Trails Committee was formed to provide and promote a cohesive vision for the development and use of the Bedford trail system for passive recreation.
The committee membership is made up with members from the Bicycle Coalition, Conservation Commission, and Recreation Commission, the trail stewards and other interested Bedford residents.
The committee is responsible for looking at the system as a whole to develop a system of hiking/cross country ski trails.
The committee will propose and implement trail improvements such as:
- Addition of boardwalks to make inaccessible areas accessible
- Trail Signage
- Creating connections between trails and conservation lands
- Providing wheel chair access where appropriate
The committee will be responsible for finding funding for trail improvements.
The committee will provide trail use events such as local hikes, cross country ski tours and trail clean ups.
