FLORIDA STYLE SCRAMBLE

This is a foursome tournament. The four players handicaps will be totaled and divided by four to get an average handicap. The cards will then be stroked accordingly. All players will hit a tee shot and the best of the four shots will be taken. Pick up the three remaining balls and proceed to the best ball. All four players will then make their second shot from the best ball previously chosen. Continue this format until you are in the hole. The only difference in this type of scramble is that you get a club length from the best ball you choose. If you are in the rough you can not take a club length to go into the fairway, you must remain in the rough. You may not go from the fringe to the green either.

FLAG TOURNAMENT

The flag tournament is played as an individual tournament. Each person gets a flag with their name on it. They will then take par for the course, which in this case is 34, and add it to their 9 hole handicap, (i.e. 25). Add the two together for a total of 59. You will then have 59 shots. After you have taken your 59th shot, where the ball lands, you will plant your flag. The person who plants their flag closest to the 9th hole wins. If more than 1 person comes in the clubhouse with their flag, the winner will be the player with the most remaining shots. God Bless America!

ADVANTAGE

This tournament is played as a two-person team. Scores will be added together per team. Net format. There will be a flag placed in all the fairways by me before the start of play. All four players will tee off. If one of the players from each team had a bad tee shot, and didn't reach the flag, she may pick up her ball and go to the flag (within one club length, no closer to the hole) and hit her second shot from there. If all four players have passed the flag, just play the hole out. The only time you would get an advantage in this game is if you have a bad tee shot on a particular hole. DON’T WORRY IT HAPPENS TO ALL OF US!

PICK-UP STICKS

This tournament is played as an individual tournament. Your cards will be stroked using your nine hole handicap. The player with the lowest net score for the hole is the winner. The winner gets to take one of the clubs of any of the players she is competing against in her foursome. If there is a tie, no one gets to take a club from anyone. If your club has been taken, you must win a hole to get yours back and then take another players club. The putter is off limits. Be careful which club you take. If you take someone's driver, you maybe doing them a favor. HA HA. Lowest score wins.

DOMINANT BALL

This tournament is played as a foursome. You will take your handicap strokes for the nine holes, and mark your cards the way you did when we played match play. Two scores will be taken and added together to make up your best score. (i.e. Betty has a net 3, Marge has a net 2, Pat has a net 4, and Linda has a net 3. Normally you would take the 2 and the 3 for a total of 5. Here is the tricky part, you must first assign each player 2 holes that they will be the dominant player on. Since there are nine holes, one player must be dominant for 3 holes. This must be decided before you begin. Hole 1 - Betty is dominant, you must use her score, and the best score of the remaining 3, to equal your two scores. Hole 2 - Marge is dominant, you must use her score, and the best score of the 3 remaining, and so on. Good luck!

BULL'S EYE

This tournament is an individual net format. Each time you approach a green, keep in mind that you want to chip (or putt from off the green) The ball within the length of the black part to the base of the flag stick, excluding the black stripe. If you do, you get to minus 1 stroke from the total of that hole. (i.e. If you had a 6 on the first hole, and you landed on the green inside the flag stick, your score on the hole would now be a 5.) Circle that score on your scorecard, so that the actual score may be posted in the computer properly for your handicap. Do not use the 5 for your monthly ringers, you must use your original 6. Good Luck!
