About me: I was born in the USA.... in '60 (see note at bottom of page) then moved around a lot....
I learned how to ski in 1978 in Switzerland and I've been skiing almost every year since. I've all over the U.S. and Europe, and really like Sun Valley, Idaho and Vail, Colorado the best so far. My trip list shows all the ski trips. I also like to go to the beach and to the mountains and LOVE TO TRAVEL. I've been to over 90 countries and 49 states (no Hawaii yet) and 33 presidents homes (thanks to Mom). My Grandparents also traveled to over 60 countries!
My ongoing Project: Scanning 10,000 slides of our family trips around the world. There are so many things to see in this world! I'm trying to get around to seeing the same things that my grandparents saw. They visited 60 countries in the 1950's. In 1960 they lived in Bangkok and traveled to Beirut, Lebanon, Hong Kong, Jerusalem, Turkey, Cambodia, India, Europe, and the USA. I am scanning over 5000 of their pictures and I'm posting similar pictures when I see the same thing 40 years later. This picture is from my
2001 trip to Vietnam/Cambodia. I visited awesome temples including Angkor Wat. It was built in the 12th century (1113-1150) and it's 65 meters (213 feet) high. My Aunt and Grandparents visited this temple in 1960. I accomplished my goal to visit the same beautiful place. This is my Aunt and Grandmother in front of Angkor Wat in 1960
This is me in the same place in 2001
Is that incredible or what? Check out the **asterisk** places in my list countries indicate other "then and now" pictures.
WOW: My mother has been researching her geneology for the past 10 years. She has discovered that we are descendents of John Wycliffe's brother, He was a theologian who translated the Holy Bible into English. Too cool.
This is Stone Mountain, Georgia when we visited it in 1967.
They finished carving it in 1972.
Note, this page is not millenniumized. '60 represents 1960, not 2060.
Go Gators! NATIONAL CHAMPIONS in Football (2006 and 2008) AND Men's Basketball (2006 and 2007)
