We stayed at the

Mountaintop Lodge in Dahlonega

447 Mountain Top Lodge Road, Dahlonega, GA  (800) 526-9754

A rustic cedar lodge with nine guestrooms on two levels, common area with wood burning stove, upstairs game/library loft, guest  kitchen, large and small dining rooms.

More information at http://www.mountaintoplodge.net.

For dinner we ate at Turner's Corner Cafe
(706) 865-6150.  It is at the intersection of Highways 19 and 129, alongside the Chestatee River in a 1928 Gas Station.  Great trout and desserts including WBP (World's Best Pie), HFC (Hot Fudge Cake), Berry Cobbler, and Pumpkin Cobbler (in October).

Some of the group chillin' on the back deck: Sue's back, Neal, Jean, Sandy, Ed, Donna, Linda, Monica, Steve

This 1/4 mile walkabout was a lot shorter than our adventurous hike on Saturday afternoon.
