Construction / Rivals

Construction

Led by Keith Egyud (a.k.a. Keith Allen), Construction was one of the longest running bands around. I'm not sure when they formed, but my first knowledge of them was around 1974 or 75. Kenny Chick and Domenic Bartolini of the Freedom Band joined with Keith, Bob "Oscar" Meyer, Scott McGowan and Edgar Johnson to play a few times together.

Their schedule shows a typical month of bookings, they were by far one of the hardest working bands around. They we're a mainstay on the club scene for many years doing covers and dance music.

In the 1980's they switched on their alter ego The Rivals, focusing more on playing and recording their excellent original material.
They were one of the few local bands that got airplay on WPST.

In January of 1984, the Rivals went into the studio to begin work on an EP that include the songs: "Surrounded", "Only Want You", "Jamie" & "Don't Wake Me Up".

This pic is from the back of that EP.

The pics below are from those sessions.
