Montana / Survivors / Ricochet

Montana Mining Company (1979)

I know 3rd from left is Brian Leahy and I think Joe Grillo is the guy sitting down in front.

If you picked up the Aquarian Weekly during the early 80's you would see these guys listed at one club or another any night of the week all over NJ. They were a fun and energetic dance band.

This was an ad for their final show as Montana. They were transforming themselves into The Survivors after this gig. BUT...another of those Rocky movies comes out, and it's theme song, "Eye Of The Tiger" becomes a hit for a band called Survivor, soooo, they then changed their name to Ricochet.

Since they drew big crowds when they played at Brothers in Mercerville NJ, club owner Henry Poreda helped them get this record made and was credited as Executive Producer.

Henry got the band booked on "Dancing On Air", a teen dance show from WPHL channel 17 in Philadelphia. I went to their appearance with Henry to watch them lip-sync while all the kids danced! From what I remember they were pretty well received by the kids on the show.
