left: Nick Tuccillo, John DeGeorge, Me, I was 11 or so at the time. I think we broke up 10 minutes after this pic was taken, and then formed a football team! We got our name from this guy named Doug Soltesz who was in a band called The Kids Today or something close to that. They used to block off Washington Street just off Roebling Ave and play concerts for the neighborhood. They were a 4 piece band kinda modeled after the Young Rascals. I think they recorded a 45 . (If anyone knows anything about them let me know!) |

Carnegie Hall was always packed and always had some great bands from North Jersey. Flossie, Max, Courtney, Sticky Fingers, Backstreets, Phantom's Opera, The Gashouse Gang, The Uncle Jimmy-Who Show They would have .50 cent drinks until 11pm on Thursdays. Guess what time my $20. was gone by! I had many rough Fridays back then. |
