Shiva Prime and Garuda Prime Battles

When Cherie first found out she was going to be on camera the whole day she was a little embarrassed...

After meeting Renny and Friday, we set out to Shiva's Lair in Fei'Yin. It's a long long walk. Luko was able to come too, although we had to keep hiim on Sneak and Invisible, since he was only level 30. That's why you can't see him in the pictures here.

Eventually we got really deep into Beaucidine Glacier and I had to go Invisible too. Our party was Renny RDM72/WAR36, Friday WHM75/RDM37, Cherie WHM56/BLM27, and Luko DRK30/WAR15.

Finally ariving at Fei'Yin. On the map here you can see how far it is from Xarcabard. (Nobody is dead, they were just coming back into my zone.)

The walk through Fei'Yin is actually really long too. All four of us had to use Sneak in here due to mobs being very high level.

We finally reach the Ice Protocrystal where we will enter the battlefield. Sorry for forgetting to take off the menus for the posed picture :/

When you choose to enter the battlefield for the first time, you go through a short cutscene. Here are a few pics from this cutscene.

The strategy was to keep little Luko away from Shiva, so he stayed with me up on the top level of the battle arena. The plan was to pull her down to the bottom level and I would be able to cast from above.

This is a much better view of how we set up on different levels. Luko thought it was funny to cast his level 30 DRK "Fire" spell on Shiva. 13 damage each always helps ;)

Ack! Where did this one go wrong! Actually, Renny ate the wrong food before the fight and it ended up hurting her. She wasn't able to Convert safely and so she accidentally died. DOH! Gotta try again. Everyone died but me, thanks to Luko the brave DRK30 actually PROVOKING Shiva to allow me to exit the battlefield. Lol Luko, I will always remember you for doing that for me.

Friday had Reraise III on, so he came back and Raised Renny and Luko, and then we went back in to try. My role in the battle was to keep Renny and Friday on Haste and Regen, and to Cure while they exchanged the hate from Shiva. Phalanx, Stoneskin, switch hate, rinse and repeat. It was done brilliantly by two excellent players.

We won the fight easily and were ready to move on to Ms. Garuda...

The journey to The Cloister of Gales sucked...someone lost Invisible in Cape Terrigan and died, so we got held back about an hour. I won't show that since it's darn boring. Eventually we arrived at the Wind Protocrystal.

This time little Koodus 30WHM/10SMN got to come along as well. Smile team!

Same strategy this time, only stressing Garuda's weakness to Ice. We were able to defeat her on the first try! Also this time Renny successfully Converted during the battle, which was pretty nerveracking to watch.

Completing the quest and receiving a pact with Garuda, allowing me to summon her from now on :)

While Luko was in the cutscene to receive his reward, his character for some reason was up in the tree. Very very weird. I thought it was hilarious though. Also, Koodus was so excited that he tried to summon Garuda in town. Even more embarassing was his macro in /say. Heheh, you know I'm just kiddin Kood ;)

Thanks to anyone who read my whole journal...it's my first one, so your feedback and suggestions would be appreciated. I will make another one when I fight other Summon Primes next weekend.
