SEPTA’s "Welcome Line" recreated the role that streetcars played in the city's transit history. The line operated on 11th and 12th Street, between Noble and Bainbridge Street and some cars went to the Philadelphia Zoo. The cars ran from 1995 to 1996 on the Welcome Line. The cars also were used during the holidays and on charters.

The St. Louis Car Company manufactured the trolleys that were used on the line in 1947. PCC car 2728 was painted in PTC 1938 silver and cream, PCC 2732 was painted in 1947 green and cream and PCC car 2799 was painted in Red Arrow 1949 maroon and cream.

The Welcome line stopped running because it did not go to any historic sites as well as SEPTA budget cuts. Two of the PCC cars 2728 and 2799 that ran on the line have been sent to the Baltimore Streetcar Museum. PCC car 2732 is at Glen Echo Park .
