Troop 4's 75th Birthday was in July, 2002.

Troop 4 was originally chartered in July, 1927 by the men of Engine Company 4 who operated Constitution Engine 4 out of Constitution Fire Station in South Hingham.
Troop 4 Hingham was chartered in July of 1927 and has been in continuous operation since that time. It is part of the Great Ponds District of the Old Colony Council, Boy Scouts of America. Since 1955 at least 98 young men have entered the troop and attained the highest rank in Scouting, Eagle Scout.
Troop 4 is organized to provide the scouting experience to boys in the South Shore area. Troop 4 has traditionally accomplished this goal through a program of weekly group meetings, monthly special functions (camping trips) and summer camp.
Troop 4 membership is open to all boys ages 11 - 17 (or younger if they have earned their Arrow of Light). Boys in Troop 4 are encouraged to organize and carry out their scouting programs by developing qualities of self-reliance, responsibility, and self-confidence.
The Troop meets Thursday evenings from 7:30 - 9:00pm at Resurrection Church. (Troop 4 is non-denominational.) Meetings are held during the school year on every Thursday that Hingham Public Schools are in session. Meetings are only cancelled for weather reasons if Hingham Public Schools are cancelled. The Troop does not meet during vacation weeks.
