Samuel acquired 40 acres on the edge of Jackson Township (SW/SW/S9/T11N/R4W), Owen County, in September 1836.
On 22 January 1843, Eli was ordained as a deacon in the "Little Flock Baptist Church" which was formed the year before, mostly by BEAMANs.
Eli acquired another piece of land on the edge of Jackson (NW/NW/S9/T11N/R4W) from his cousin, Alvin, in January 1849.
Note: Eli appears to correlate with accounts of the prominent Baptist minister, "Levi." Levi, however, does not appear in any official records.
