Eli acquired another piece of land on the edge of Jackson (NW/NW/S9/T11N/R4W) from his cousin, Alvin, in January 1849.

Catherine's mother and step-father lived with her at this time along with William Casbell BEAMAN. It is still unknown how William relates to the family, but there is a likelihood he is an illegitimate son of Catherine's or one of her sisters.

The CLINKENBEARDs and Catherine's mother, step-father, and William Casbell moved to Otter Township, Warren County, Iowa by 1860 where her brother, Bryant lived nearby. By 1870, Catherine's family and mother followed Bryant to Raglan Township, Harrison County, Iowa.
