STROKE IF FATAL TO E.M. LANTZ
Known Helena Resident Died At His Home Early Monday
Helena, O., Oct. 13. Emanuel M. Lantz, 81, respected life long resident of Sandusky county, died at his home here Monday at 1 a.m. following a stroke of paralysis with which he was stricken a week ago. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock p.m. in the United Brethren church and burial will occur at the Metzker cemetery. Rev. B. D. Corl, pastor of the church, will officiate.
Mr. Lantz had operated a cider mill at Helena for many years once retiring from a farm near Helena in 1880. He was born near Hessville, Sept. 1, 1849 and was a son of John and Elizabeth Lantz. He was united in marriage to Miss Rebecca Moses in 1872. Mrs. Lantz died in 1913. Two children were born to the union of whom a daughter died in infancy. The deceased was a member of the Reformed Church at Hessville and transferred to the Reformed Chruch at Helena and later when the Reformed Chruch here was abandoned, he joined the United Bretheran Church. He was a member of the Helena Odd Fellows and the Encampment in Fremont.
He is survived by one son L. Z. Lantz of Oak Harbor and one granddaughter, Mrs. E. V. Perry of Oak Harbor, as well as other distant relatives and many friends. He was the last member of a family of eight children.
