The marriage year of 1662 for Johann Philipp and Christina is given
according to the text in Willoughby [1979]. The chart in the appendix is
apparently incorrect, listing the marriage year as 1672. [Lapp, 1996].
Johann Philipp (the spelling as given in the Brethren Encyclopedia) was a
vineyard owner and miller, elder of the Reformed church, long time
member of the town council, and mayor of Schriesheim in 1690 and 1696.
He bequeathed considerable property to his surviving children at the
death of his wife in 1702. Sons Alexander and Johann Jacob jointly
inherited the mill.
Alexander Mack's father Johann Philipp was a vineyard owner and miller,
elder of the Reformed church, long time member of the town council, and
mayor of Schriesheim in 1690 and 1696. Johann Philipp bequeathed
considerable property to his surviving children at the death of his wife
in 1702. Sons Alexander and Johann Jacob jointly inherited the mill,
which their father had been able to repurchase in 1679. Their surviving
siblings were Johann Philipp, Anna Margaretha and George Conrad. Six
other children died in childhood. The order of birth of the children is not
known.
