Soloman was age 48 on 1850 Census.
According to Mr. Kensel Stephens of Chesapeake VA, Solomon apparently died on
30 or 31 Jan 1877. A doctor's bill (Dr. Priest who charged $2.50 a visit)
listed a total of 24 visits for $67.50. His estate paid the balance of $58.86
due after his death. In his will, Solomon Teter left:
First I give and bequeath to my son John Teter one hundred and fifty dollars
out of my estate. Second I give and bequeath unto Marvina Sponaugle the wife
of William Sponaugle one hundred dollars out of my estate.
Third I give and bequeath unto my daughter Leah, the wife of James Bartley,
and the heirs of her body one hundred and fifty dollars out of my estate.
Fourth I give and bequeath unto the three children of my son Henry one
hundred and fifty dollars out of my estate to be divided equally between them.
Fifth I will and do hereby direct that as soon as convenient after my demise
all the property I own not herein bequeathed shall be sold and the proceeds
therof and any other effects that I may have after paying funeral expenses and
my just debts shall be divided into four equal parts and my son John have one
part my daughter Mary and her heirs of her body one part and my daughter Leah
and the heirs of her body one part and the three children of my son Henry one
part equally divided among them.
Sixth I will and bequeath or direct that the two year colt I own shall be
sold and the proceeds thereof be put out at Legal Interest for the benefit of
Jasper L. Teter the son of Leah Teter and as soon as he arrive to the age of
twenty one to be given to him.
Seventh I have already fiven my sons Joel Teter and Eli P. Teter their full
portion of my estate in lands which is conveyed by deeds.
Lastly I do hereby nominate and appoint my sons Joel Teter and John Teter to
be executors of my last will and testament and do hereby remake and make void
all former and other will or wills by me at any time or times heretofore made
and do hereby declare these to be and contain my last will and testament. 28
