When the Club was at Davis Montham AFB

Before the club was named Tucson Ntrak or ASWMRR, we were located at the local Air Force Base in Tucson. A club memeber had ties to the Air Force and spoke to some people and was able to get a small room at Davis Montham AFB. The room was in need of repair, but it was free space. Club memebers took out a dividing wall, painted walls and fixed a leaking roof. The club modeled the layout based upon the Western Pacific, hence the name Feather River N'ginners. The layout was all DC aristo craft control, because DCC was still in its very early days. Near 1999, AFB management changed and they were in need of our room. So, the club had to move out. The layout was put in storage and many members left for good. Around Fall 2000, a new club member was looking for help with a layout and had pretty much given up his 3 car garage to the club. You can see the results of that layout under 'Club at 620'. Many of the sections from the DM layout we molded into the new layout but others were gone for good. Below is a glance at what DM looked like. The local news station did a segment on the club, here is the link to download this presentation.
