Tucson GW&ATS 2006 Show

On January 28th & 29th 2006, Tucson Ntrak set up another big layout at the Great Western and Atlantic Train Show (GW&ATS), which has been the replacement for the Great American Train Show (GATS). Over all we put up another wonderful and fully running display at the Pima County Fairgrounds, Thurbur Hall. Everthing went as good or better than last years show (which was really good). We had trains running in all directions and it really made for a crowd favorite. This year we set up a layout that was square shaped at 80ft by 40ft and was made up of modules from our club and Prescott Valley Arizona Ntrak. Unfotunatley Carl Sowell of El Paso Ntrak couldnt make it out because of health and the Phoneix club wasnt able to make it out either but it still turned out to be a wonderful event. We had two layouts, one was the main square and the other contained Stuarts loop modules. Both ran great but the bottom line was we all got to run trains for 12 hours. Thanks to the craftsmanship of Gary Copus we had a walk thorugh lift gate module so we wouldnt have to crawl under the layout to get in (it saved alot of knee's). This was the first year that Tucson Ntrak hosted a clinic about module construction thanks to Les who made that possible. We would like to thank everybody who came and supported us, it really meant alot to hear your opinion. We hope that this show will run again next year, and yes will be there. We also would like to thank Gary's neighbor who loaned us his 20 foot trailer, so we could get all of our stuff to and from the show at no cost.
