Hundred Palms Assisted Living Winter 2006

On December 2nd & 3rd, 2006 we attended our annual show at the Hundred Palms. Its a retirement facility, that houses older people that need more assistance everyday. They have a nice room there which this time was the first that we did a four corner loop. The past times were with Stuarts looping modules but he needed them that weekend so they were not available for use. The spectators is some what lacking, few stop by to see it, but we like to use this show as time for us to run trains and its sometimes really nice not having a crowd to worry about. But many of the residents like the set up and really encourage our return.

Hundred Palms Assisted Living Summer 2006

On July 15th & 16th, 2006 we were invited to set up a smaller sized Ntrak set up at a local Tucson nursing/ retirement home. The Hundred Palms Assisted Living center off Pantano and Broadway in Tucson gave us a activity room for the weekend. We set up a 8ft x 24ft display in a U Shape. It utilized the Stuart looping modules on the end giving the trains a lot of room to go back and forth. While the crowd at the Hundred Palms was small, Tucson Ntrak members enjoyed a weekend to let there trains roll. All of the residents at the home enjoyed gazing at all the details and recalled seeing or traveling on trains years ago. Everything ran well and we are hoping to make it around to many different assisted living homes around Tucson. We even got in the Arizona Daily Star newspaper, which was a big hit for the residents. This show was an excellent experience because we were dealing with a very different crowd than usual. We learned a lot and so did they.
