Northwest Tugs
The Pacific Northwest. Lush green forest, crystal lakes… snow-capped mountains. Yes, The Great Northwest is all of that, and of course, a good deal more—not the least of which being America’s busiest and best respected towing firms. But it is the majestic forest for which the Pacific Northwest is best known, as lumber and wood products from the region make their way into communities across the United States and even into foreign markets. And when lumber leaves the woodcut en route to the sawmill, the cheapest, most effective mode of transport is via the Northwest’s vast river and inland waterway network. Where there are working rivers, there are work boats. When talk turns to work boats in the Northwest, you can bet that the word tugs will crop up in the conversation.
