Private Lessons
Students who want to further advance their twirling skills are encouraged to enroll in private lessons. Private lessons may be scheduled weekly or every other week. Typically students schedule one hour lessons. However, younger children or students just beginning private lessons may want to schedule 1/2 hour privates. The first program all students begin work on is solo. After completing a solo program students may choose to learn any other USTA event.
Competition
After learning a solo students will be ready to enter USTA competitions. USTA offers competitions for all ages and levels of twirlers in solo, strut, two baton, three baton, and dance twirl. Team and corps competition is also offered to groups. All Shooting Stars members who want to participate in a team are required to compete in solo. More advanced and older twirlers have to opportunity to participate in the USTA pre-trials and trials program.
