The Sum of Its Parts
Someone on the SlipstreamBBS dubbed
this episode "Tinky Winky Meets the Borg." He or she has a point. I
thought it was a pretty funny, and apt summation.
I did like
the episode, though I felt it did not come up to the level of
"Harper 2.0" and "Distant Drum" or "Forced
Perspective."
Dylan was really annoying in this episode. He
was a pig-headed fool. Tyr and Beka were both right. I contrasted
Dylan's behavior with how Captain Kirk would have handled the
situation. This creature forced its way onto the ship -Dylan was
absolutely remiss in not taking stronger security measures.
HG himself (itself?) was rather funny in some scenes.
Altogether, I thought the episode was not as well written as others.
Trance does have a star turn, however, and this really salvaged the
show for me. Love the way she uses that tail!!!!!!

Re: The Sum of Its Parts
That was pretty funny with the tail,
ha! But this episode left me shaking my head. I couldn't grasp the
plot very well and really ending up not caring one way or the other.
I gave up and just drooled over Tyr whenever he appeared. I did like
the exchanges between Beka and Tyr, or was that last weeks? They
were good!!
I agree, it was not up to the normal standard of
writing, but this happens I guess.

Re: The Sum of Its Parts
I found this episode a little slow
and boring. I thought for sure that they were going to have another
character added to the show. By the way Trance was feeling towards
HG. I thought for sure he was going to stay aboard. HG was tolerable
in a funny way. Dylan on the other hand well when HG formed right
before their eyes was a little disturbing, they just stood there
watching HG form what's that all about, Geez LC yes there should of
been more security taken upon the arrival of HG. I'm sure we will
see more of this type like a borg as people put it. At the end where
HG was giving away all of his body parts to the crew we see Trance
in the garden with her piece of HG baring it and the piece that HG
gave to Harper floating in the air gave me the assumption that this
won't be the last time we see HG or these types of forms. Just my
thoughts.

Re: The Sum of Its Parts
Redhead I had the same opinion as
you about this episode, and RD it was slow, only thing salvageble
was Tyr's body, and Trance's scenes
Next week is the repeat
where Trance gets some martial arts instructions from Tyr, I died
during that whole exchange

That particular scene is one of my
favorites, WQ.
I love it when she knocks him on his rear.
Too funny.

Re: The Sum of Its Parts
Sadly I could not find anything
really redeemable about this episode...except..this was the ep where
Beka pretty much has Dylan pegged and she tells Tyr that they won't
get anywhere with him, right? I think I recall that scene being in
this ep...but the entire premise of it....um...needed something
more...
