Re: When Fates

It was okay but I couldn't figure out the reason for it unless
it was no matter what you can't change fate. I would have liked
to see much more of Ted Raimi.

Re: When Fates Collide
I don't know but I think it was written after the cancellation
notice and was a way to give us subbers some of what we wanted,
bring back the characters that we missed and showcase X&G in
some beautiful costumes.
I loved it!!

Re: When Fates Collide
Hey how come we can reply to this poll?
It was a good
episode, not on my top ten list of episodes, but the past 2 weeks as
a Xena fan I've been impressed with the writing.
For a subber
episode, I preferred ROTV, the last Norseland episode, now that was
pure X/G romance

Cool!!!!!!!!!!! EZ had a good post on this on the nutforum and I
know patience and Gabrielle's Army are member's of this board and I
told them about the poll going.
I think I would rather had
Callisto in this episode, than Alti, give the fan's one last episode
with her in it, she's Xena's true rival not Alti.

Re: When Fates Collide
WFC was the best of season 6, maybe best of the show. It's hard
to move OAAA out of the top spot, but dang WFC was good.
And Katherine Fugate rocks!

Re: When Fates
Collide
Hi Red, Well first of all let me just say that I absolutly loved
When Fates Collide.
I think that the best way to describe my
feelings about When Fates Collide is to repost my comments about it
that I made on Natasha`s When Fates Collide thread at the nut
forum.
Well I`ve been putting off
posting my chak rating for When Fates Collide, not because I
couldn`t decide what score to give it, thats the easy
part.
When Fates Collide is a 5+ chakram episode, hell I
would give it 20 chakrams if I could.
No the problem is
knowing what to say about this extraordinary episode to do it
justice.
Let me first say that WFC has found it`s way on to
my list of the great episodes, keeping company with classics like
Ides of March, One Against An Army, The Quest, and To Helicon and
Back, among others, it`s that good.
In fact I wasn`t sure
that another episode would ever come close to Ides of March, or
OAAA, but WFC proved me wrong.
I was in tears after this
episode, tears of joy at finally seeing the love story between X/G
shown in all it`s glory, and tears of sadness that this show which
has touched me in so many ways was coming to an end, when it could
still produce wonderful episodes, like WFC, or in fact when it could
still produce such an excellent season like we have been blessed
with in season six.
I want to thank Katherine Fugate for
writing such a beautiful story and ROC and Lucy for their
extraordinary moving performance in this episode, the girls have
been consistenly excellent on their performances over the years,
even when the scripts haven`t been, and it`s wonderful to see the
result when they are given such great material to work
with.
And I wish I could send a tape of this episode to all
the critics who dismiss this show as lightweight, campy,
entertainment, because LL and ROC are more than deserving of Emmys
for their work on this show in the last six years.
And I
would also like to thank Rob Tapert, and TPTB, as well as the rest
of the cast and crew for their hard work in giving us this special
show every week, and also for their courage in continuing the vision
of the most extraordinary and moving love story that I have ever
seen, this relationship truly has been magic.
The
relationship, what can I possibly say about the love between these
two women that hasn`t already been said a million times.
This
is a love that has surpassed the boundries of time, and space, and
even death itself.
It truly is destiny, and Caesar never
stood a chance, he thought that he was fulfilling his destiny, only
to learn once again that if you come between Xena and Gabrielle,
that you are dealing with forces that no power on earth can
withstand.
This is a love that is like a force of nature it
has the power to destroy worlds, and to recreate them
again.
And it has never been clearer than in this episode,
where one women is offered the world, but instead chooses to make
the ultimate sacrifice for that love, and another women is willing
to destroy that world in order to get that love back.
This
has been an wonderful and epic love story and to see it finally, and
quite unambiguously portrayed fully as we see in WFC is such a
wonderful gift.

Re: When Fates
Collide
WFC comes close to matching One Against An Army as my all-time
favorite X:WP episode. OAAA holds the top spot because it focussed
on Xena and Gabrielle, with other characters peripheral. WFC had
four well-known characters with a lot of history whose stories
couldn't be totally ignored. That worked fine as a story, but took a
little something from my favorite duo, Xena and Gabrielle. I do wish
this had been the finale, as a two-parter.

Re: When Fates Collide
I loved this ep from beginning to end. Why, because the dialogue
was excellent and the performance by Lucy and Renee, especially Lucy
was superb. This was my favorite Alti of any ep. She wasn't some
comic villian, she was strong, evil and powerful. Claire Stansfield
did an excellent job.
I've said it before Katherine Fugate
gave us a gift in my favorite ep of all of the Xena eps. I think it
was so wonderful because Katherine is a fan of Xena and she knew the
characters and how she perceived them and she was right on target.
Yes Balderdash Katherine Fugate Rocks!

Re: When Fates Collide
Another that should have been a two part and the finale. Everything
about it was beautifuly realilized. the most romantic ep by far. The
balcony scene says it all! probably my favorite scene of the series.
and LL looked so hot as the Empress.

Re: When Fates Collide
This was the best episode I had seen since "Ides of March". I was
so surprised at how much I loved it and so thankful for one more
classic before the end of the show.
And I was very proud of
Lucy. She gave her best performance in years. I knew she still has
it in her to be a really good actress.

Re: When Fates Collide
I loved it, even if does collide with the show's overall notion of
fate as something that you create for yourself, not an unchangable
thing, determined by a higher power.
But it was beautiful,
and touching, and full of love.
I do agree that the ending
was a little too flat and hasty, like they wanted to end the episode
already.

Re: When Fates Collide
best idea i should of been the series final why
1- ending
good were xena and gab ride off into a foggy path 2- good
characters to return for the series final
and callisto
should of been in the series final, ares, eve.

Re: When Fates Collide
It was awesome.. Katherine Fugate is a phenomonal writer. It really
showed the connection between X and G.. that nothing, not even an
alternate fate, could keep them apart. It was movie quality
perfomances. Alti was, as always, terrifying. The best duo acting
for Renee and Lucy .. they had such a chemistry in this episode.

Re: When Fates

I LOVED this episode. I mean #1 Claire was in it for like the whole
ep. and it was just a really good episode.
I also like the
idea that this episode SHOULD have been then final episode. That
would have made me MUCH happier that the one where Xena dies.
