When did you
first wonder...?
Many of us have joined the series at different times. I was just
wondering at what point in the series you all began to wonder about
Xena and Gabby's relationship and whether or not you think they've
been intimate.

Re: When did you

I'd have to say I noticed 'the relationship' growing stonger
(meaning starting an attraction beyond just friendship, but maybe
not fully realizing it yet) about the time of "Altered States" and
definitely by "The Greater Good". I'm pretty sure Xena recognized it
after "ITADITH", and Gabrielle after "The Quest", which I thought
was pretty much confirmed during "Ulysses" (jealous much, Gab?
) As far as becoming intimate, probably toward the end of the
third season, maybe around the time of "Forget Me Not" and
"FF&G". It probably gave Xena that much extra incentive to
search for Gabrielle and ultimately defeat Alti. Their reunion in
"AFA" to me is more like two people in love with each other, more
emotionally intense than if they were best friends. I've never
really tried to pin those down before, so I reserve the right to
change my mind later about the time frames!

Re: When did you
first wonder...?
Well, considering that the first Xena episode I saw was "The Ring"
(most of it, missed the beginning)- I didn't have to wonder long at
all- it seemed they were pretty attached to one another, and
Gabrielle trying to explain the soulmate thing to the blonde braid
woman....seemed pretty clear to me. I think the Ring episodes were
my favorite of the few eps I have seen so far. They were just like a
fairy tale with monsters and romance, I really liked that. Although
the WFC ep was truly wonderful too, it's too hard to watch with
those Xena/Ceaser cross and knife scenes at the end. As to
whether or not they've been mussing up the bedroll- I would have
initially said no except that Xena does now declare certain parts of
her anatomy "spoken for", which I personally would only state under
specific circumstances....so from my perspective, yes. I don't
watch a lot of tv, but this show now has me hooked. Bummer that I
caught the train right before it stops at the last station!

Re: When did you

The first episode I saw was "Between The Lines" and I had a
sneaking suspicion that there was more to their relationship then
what was being said in that episode.
Do I think they've been
intimate... I personally don't think they have "gone all the way."
Well, possibly during "Been There, Done That" but that doesn't
count. It was a cosmic loop and as we all know, cosmic loops make
all sexual experiences null and void.

I stumbled on XWP one night in a hotel. FF&G. My partner and I
traded looks and said simultaneously "These women are sleeping
together." We haven't missed an ep since.

THe Quest-I think Gabby almost losing Xena made her realize how
much she meant to her.

LOL Gracie!
And Runt, watch giving too many Season 6 details
outside the spoiler section. You don't want to give Redhead a reason
to use her whip. Or do you?

Oops! Sorry about the spoilers, my apologies to any I've spoiled!
As for the whip- maybe she should wait until I've been really,
really bad! LOL! I would like to say here that people on this
board all seem so nice, I've never posted on a board before so bear
with me here while I'm learning, thanks! So are spoilers
considered anything from the current season? I don't want to mess up
again!

Re: When did you

The first ep I ever saw was "The Quest". So needless to say, I have
been hooked ever since, much to my gf's dismay. If there were any
doubts after that, OAAA pretty much solidified it for me.

Re: When did you
first wonder...?
Goe, I'd have to say "Sins of the Past" -- the very first ep. I
remember it vividly.
I know, I know, there really wasn't
anything "sexual" per se. I had gone over to my brother's house to
hang out with my nephew, then 8 and 3, (wow, time flies--they're all
grown up now...sob sob) and they had the TV on. This completely
cheesy show with some crazed woman in armour came on and we watched
the whole thing. Believe me, I was rolling my eyes during the first
half hour, thinking "Goofy kids show, just be a good aunt and watch
it with them". Then I sarted getting this wierd inkling about that
homely young girl who kept following Xena around. (Can you believe I
thought she was homely?!) FFWD to the part where Xena was talking to
her dead brother in his sarcophagus, whose name escapes me right
now, and Gaby peeks her little head around the corner and answers
Xena's rhetorical question about being all alone with "You're not
alone", along with a few of what I describe as drawn-out wanton
looks.
I IMMEDIATELY thought something was up with the two of
them, that it wasn't just some sisterly statement. I also thought
something "adult" was about to happen and frantically thought how
was I going to have to cover the boys' eyes fast enough! It was one
of those "hide the lesbian magnets on the fridge, the parents are
coming over" kind of moments!
Needless to say, I've been a
fan since. And it was the titillation that started me, but the
evolution of it that hooked me.

away!!! (Don't kill me, Rox. You know I luv ya!

Re: When did you

I fell out of my chair!! I was literally ROTFLMAO!!! And do I ever
understand about the parent thing! If it's any consolation, they do
get over it. Now my dad keeps trying to fix me up! (It was easier to
hide the magnets! Just kidding!)

Re: When did you
first wonder...?
I can't remember the VERY first episode I watched (gasp) because it
was before I started watching regularly in S3. So probably
Destiny/The Quest. Long after that I saw ROC and even though I
already thought they were a couple, I think if I'd seen the shows in
order that would be the clincher. Xena looks sooooo sad when she
hugs and kisses Gabrielle goodbye--like she's lost WAY more than her
best friend, but the womon she thought she'd spend her life
with. And of course there's all the fun ones to follow:ADITL,
BTDT, FF&G, etc. Course I'm hoping the finale will be an
unequivocal declaration of their loving partnership even if I
already long since believe they are together in every se(keep making
the same typo here, not hitting the "s"
) ahem-sense of the word.
Battle on!

LOL!!!
The first episode I saw was Sacrifice II, and the subtext
was pretty evident in it...but I watched Xena especially after
reading and article with a mention about the lesbian following. And
I said to myself:"Jeez! I don't know that series! But I must watch
it!" I never missed an episode after that! (And I managed to watch
all the ones I had missed before!!!)

Re: When did you
first wonder...?
I had seen bits of the show during channel surfs and would just
keep going. It looked really stupid to me.Then one day, again while
surfing,i ran across Bitter Suite.Did'nt know the name of the show
or the ep at this time. But it was the scene where X is on the cross
and G is laying on that slab, and they're singing to each other about
the hurt.
As i listened and watched the emotions on their
faces,i said to myself,"but these 2 women are in love".I watched the
rest of the ep,when they washed ashore in that last scene, covered in
the seaweed.I had seen that scene before in some old movie, with a
man and a woman who were in love.So right then and there i knew i
had to find out about this show and what was up with these
women.I've been hooked since.

Re: When did you first wonder...?
One of the first episodes I *actually* watched (I'd seen some
beforehand, just never really got too involved) was Ulysses, and I
spotted the tension there. Hehe, poor Gabby getting all upset. I
went on the internet not long after and saw all the subtext stuff,
which I thought I was making up... glad to know I wasn't

When did I first wonder? Honestly? *big moron here* I didn't wonder
till a friend pointed it out to me during season 5. Looking back I
have no idea how I could have missed the subtext and at points
maintext but I did. lol
