...Seraphs...
So you want to be a Seraph …
Congratulations!!! You made your first right move just by opening this page and contemplating going against the Creator.... Now let me give you some insight into the greatest race in existance:
Another race supposedly birthed around the same time as the Wildseed's ancestral beginning, the Seraphs are similarly not truly human, although they do boast human forms as well as their true form. They tend to be very beautiful/handsome in appearance and always well off in the world. You will not see a Seraph in rags unless they are in disguise and even then, it will be a rarity. They have no care for human life, feeling that they are beneath their attentions and will think nothing of killing a bystander to vent the day's frustration. To make a friend of a Seraph is to be, in essence, protected for life, though this is damn near impossible to do!
Seraphs have two forms usually, a humanoid form, and an "angelic" form often accompanied by wing like structures somewhere on their body. On rare occasions there will be some that have a third form. These are the most dangerous and powerful type of Seraphs and the form reflects their most honed mystic ability. They have had many years to prepare themselves for this battle they wage and are often high paid executives or powerful politicians, prominent in society. They seek the limelight and are often rather demeaning toward others. They see their race as "the best, the first and the pure." Whether that is true or not remains to be seen.
Seraphs seem to be doing anything and everything possible to covertly kill the Wildseed. Why? That remains to be seen. Unlike the Wildseed, who mostly prefer to stay hidden and blend into society, Seraphs will readily morph into their alter egos in order to give themselves an upper hand. If onlookers happen to see their true form, the Seraph will normally kill them as well as their target. Strength wise, the Seraphs are stronger than the Wildseed they hunt, but that strength is only in their real form where their movement is often severely hampered, not being fit for "normal" human life. They often have elemental or psionic powers in which to call upon to aid them though.
They also will use other Wildseed to hunt down those who they seek. They are incredible manipulators and will stop at nothing to reach their goal, which is to eradicate all Wildseed from the face of this earth. Their motivation behind this is totally unknown, but one thing is for certain, in this battle the lines between "good and evil" will be severely blurred.
Seraphs are naturally adept at doing whatever it was they were once created for in Heaven. Sometimes though, depending on the how they react to their Fall; their nature twists as does their abilities. An angel of compassion could well become a Seraph of torment. This is not always the case those, some simply continue doing what they were before...
Take for instance Raphiel. He's supposedly the Angel of Knowledge. He knows a lot...a WHOLE lot but the interesting thing is, he's very tight lipped about it all. And he had to relearn a lot of things once he FELL because life is different on Heaven, Hell and Earth. New experiences garnered him new understandings of the depth of living and life itself. He doesn't offer much of this information, but he DOES understand a great deal more than most - even some of the Higher Seraphs. He continued to gather knowledge to this day...just mostly for his OWN advantage.
They do also have one quite major factor to their advantage …Seraphs are.... immortal. Sorta... kinda...
Ok, here's how it works. If they're killed, they are only dead for a short amount of time (like a few hrs or so) before resurrection. UNLESS you chop off their head, or cut out several vital organs. AND I DO ME CUT OUT!! Ruptured heart will mend, caved in lungs will too. But a missing organ or two, the body doesn't know how to regroup it. Missing head = missing brain. No Seraph, no resurrection!
Lifespan - indefinitely forever. They will stay on this earth until their destined "duty" is done. And I’m not telling what it is unless you're a Higher Seraph and you personally IM me! =^_-=
There are NO young seraphs. So I don't want to see any teenager angsty kids. Seraphs have been around for eons. The youngest of which was probably around well before Jesus was even born! Let's say Old Testament here! That is how old they are. There are relative "youths" among them. But none will be so young as to not know how to utilize their powers very well.
They are smart, ruthless and often wise - just very hot tempered and passionate about their hatred. They are also the most arrogant bastards you'll ever see. They area beautiful though it is easily warped by centuries of bitterness and hate. The older they are, the more biblical they will talk.
IE: Thy, thou, thus...things like that.
Philosophical and introverted is another common trait. As well as methodically mad! Crazy...some are just straight crazy! One moment they might be reciting Shakespeare, and the next they'll be attempting to rend you limb from limb all the while screaming at the top of their supersonic lungs! They ignore what they deem beneath them - which are everything. Until it's designated as prey. Then their attention snaps solely on it. Haute, proud...they ARE the highest echelon of society and they KNOW it and flaunt it well.
To put it simply … they’re the ultimate "fun" bad guy group to play!!!
The History of The Seraph:
“In the beginning, God created Heaven and the Earth”…He also created the Angels and unto them gave the task of tending Heaven. Upon the new world, God cast a likeness of Himself and called it man. The purpose of man was to worship Him, and to tend to the world that He had provided for his children.
Knowing the manner of beast man was, he also knew that he had given them flaws in order to let them grow. These people would prove to be more resourceful than the ever-obedient Angels. God desired to see what these creations, with their independent minds, would concoct. But he also knew they would need guidance though he didn’t want to be a direct factor in their development –the failure of Eden was proof of that. So, upon this new land he sent his Guardians, an older race he’d created previously. They were neither Angel nor Human but somehow an amalgam of both, tethered by a psychic link that bound each to the other in a massive interwoven networking of the minds.
To them he had once thought to make custodians of Heaven but realized they were ill fated for such a task because he designed them as a familial community. Therefore he conceived of the Angels and set them as custodial to himself and Heaven. Finding the task of guiding Humanity a far better suited task for his Guardians, He deigned they protect their younger siblings as they developed and grew.
The Guardians themselves often showed traits of both Human and Angel, leaving their suspicious siblings, the Angels, perplexed as to who they really where. What was known though, was that they were a people who lived on a higher plain of consciousness, a collective series of intricately woven minds. A family, extended through the generations, easily traced from the original seven couples that started their race to their many prolific descendants.
Each of the original 14 had a designated task that they preformed for their race in order to keep it running properly. For example, First Mother, guiding mother to all who lived in the African continent, was the one responsible for keeping the weaving of minds cleansed of all negative thoughts and emotions. She was both teacher and custodian to her kin, and even though her job might have been slightly more arduous than others - theirs were just as important a task to accomplish.
The children of the Guardians lived within the mental network even before their bodies were conceived in the physical plane. The knowledge one Guardian had, all Guardians shared, they had only to delve within the network long enough to glean the information they desired. If a child were to sit and meditate on the Net, absorbing the knowledge of his elders, he would - in the course of a few years - glean all of the information of his forbearers. This was a safeguard in order for their race to aid in guiding humanity. Instead of their young generations having to relearn such trivial matters as which had become second nature to their elders, it became instinctive knowledge, implanted before birth.
The greatest separation between Humans and Guardians was the fact that Guardians did not know the meaning of wants or desires. God didn’t design them with such things, seeing it as a hindrance to the perfection of their minds. But the Guardians slowly began to learn of these things from their human cousins. They began to experience these emotions in bouts, some, having enjoyed the odd sensation of envy or lust, began to find themselves addicted to the sudden heady rush such carnal sensations bestowed.
At first, the eldest of their race- the Seven Houses- were able to suppress these unwanted thoughts but it became a virus, infecting and spreading through the collective thoughts, preying first on the weak, then on the youngest minds-those less guarded against the whims of the human psyche.
Around this same time, the fallen angel, Lucifer, and his beloved followers, began working against both human and Guardians. Having waited for the most opportune time to strike, he made his move. Wreaking havoc throughout the land, he scattered the Wildseed to the four winds and instilled in the humans a need to destroy those that were not like themselves.
Hunted down, persecuted and their grand society all too quickly decimated, the Guardians went into hiding. Some, often those who had lost mates or offspring, chose to secret themselves into the earth and slumber, allowing their wounds to slowly heal. Others chose to adapt and give up their normal appearance to adopt human guises and mask their mind from intrusions of those Wildseed kin that -having gone mad with the loss of their society - had lost much of their powers. These sought even more vehemently to kill their brethren than even the humans.
As the generations progressed, the Guardians forgot themselves and allowed their once brilliant mental gifts to fade into wispy threads of webbing that barely connected each to the other. Their descendants, often having little more than a drop of the gene in their blood after centuries of intermingling with humans, had all but forgotten who and what they were. The once proud society was all but gone.
An (as of yet) unknown trigger has caused the reawakening of those few sleeping Guardians that are left in this recent century. With them fully restored from their eons of slumber, they set forth, in search of their missing siblings only to find only the merest hint of blood threaded through their otherwise human seeming veins. This Wildgene, once brushed by even the slightest mental caress of their ancient minds would often flare into Awakening, attempting to reassert itself into domination over the blood, attempting to transform the bearer into something else. Something inhuman.
Many, having such faint traces of the blood never awaken, though they might exhibit a certain increase in psionic abilities, foresight, hindsight or physical traits. Those with enough blood to truly awaken the Seed within - they would become the true Wildseed, taking the place of their departed ancestor in the woven fabric of the mental net. But only if the secret society called the S.E.R.A.P.H.s didn't get to them first...
Socio/Physical
A Seraph can typically inhabit one its forms at a time, with the Lower Seraph having 2 forms (human and seraphic) for lower seraphs), and 3 or more forms for Higher Seraphs. Seraphs are psionic beasts and their powers are mostly ranging in the gamut of "dark or light" with most leaning toward Dark since their minds are very often corrupted with their own self-importance and greed. The majority of them are telepathic with at least the ability to send, receive and cause a 5 second stun on an unguarded mind (this is the lowest seraphic level) higher levels are much more lethal and deadly. The more powerful of their people can corrupt a mind from miles away simply by focusing on the person's mental presence. They are also adept at manipulation and coercion
Seraphs do take lovers amongst themselves. They don’t discriminate between sex so the mating is frivolous and free. But there are no children that ever come of this. Once, long ago, the Eldest were fertile and mated with humans. The resulting children were giants of ancient lore but they have all been killed and their bloodlines wiped out supposedly. Now, Seraphs are totally infertile. They do not and cannot reproduce at all. The Eldest simply gradually became infertile. But as stated above, they do mate. They are passionate about their mating and possessive of the one they mated with for the very short time their interest is on the other. They will squabble and fight over a love interest quickly but turn their back on that mate in the next moment and bed the one they were fighting with. They have no familiar structure and very little fondness for even one another beyond the purely carnal. Though they do show an occasional affinity for teaching…
Elder Seraphs DO take apprentices under their wing. They've adopted the word "disciple" to describe their underling whom they use much like vampires might use ghouls, sending them out to do menial tasks that are “beneath” them. They will also pass on certain powerful traits that perhaps they are the only one who knows how to do. Elder Seraphs often have a specialty that no one else can match. It is that specialty they teach their disciple. The disciple usually is only waiting for the most opportune moment to attack and kill their Elder once they’ve learned the Elder’s secrets but it is accepted socio-economic actions for them and it would be though weird if the Disciple didn’t try to kill their Elder once they could no longer learn anything more from them.
Higher Seraphs:
These are the eldest among the order. They are the premiere ones. They have the 3rd form, the greatest powers and are usually the most ruthless and evil of the bunch. They were once some of the closest Angels to God, serving directly under him but they were easily influenced and corrupted by Lucifer.
The ranking is simple, the older, the more powerful amongst the order they are. The more powerful, the crueler. And only the cruel and powerful survive to lead and conquer. Seraph society is structured power-wise. So if you want to oust someone else and steal his or her post, you’ve must defeat him/her. And I do mean KILL them. You can trap or trick them or outright battle to the death. But the only way to go up in rank is to destroy the person above you.
Lower Seraphs have their own hierarchy and servants. They will often entice humans to do their bidding, promising longer life and prestige.
The Angelic order:
1 Eldest - Angelic Son (not available)
2 Elder (prototypes of all other Angels)
Of the 3 Highest Seraphs, that were the (prototypes), they had some very odd characteristics and shortcomings though they were more powerful than all others except of the very Eldest and God of course. (1 is available for play)
7 available, 21 total Seraphim
(Amitiel was one, Shekinah (dead), was another) they were the divine choir and the voice of God. They sang for the pleasure of God and also moved in his will. They were used to aid in the weaving of the world and the continued ebb and flow of time and reality. They did not leave heaven unless they fell though their voices were sometimes heard when God spoke to an individual - his voice would have destroyed the individual, but their voice would speak for his.
7 available, 21 total Cherubim
(Abbadon was one of these) (7 are available for play on the board) they were the Divine stewards of Heaven, tending to God as his hands and the Messengers to the Angels. They kept tabs on Angelic assignments, doled out responsibility according to the Will of God and reported back to him everything they saw. They also didn't leave Heaven unless they fell but they were able to watch Earth, as were the Seraphim.
7 available, 21 total Divine Messengers
(Gabriel, Michael...etc) Bringers of Glad tidings to humanity. They were the overseers of prophecies and aides to humans who had been touched by God's Divinity. Their station was similar to a Guardian, but more important because they could directly effect what was happening on Earth and reveal their form to humanity.
21 Warrior Angels
(The great protectors of Heaven and the enforcers of the will of God. This doesn't include all those above who are also able to fighting. These guys just have the greatest prowess at hand-to-hand or armed combat since it was what they were Born for. They could also go to Earth and often did to fight off Demons (once some of the order fell) in order to protect humans touched by God's Divinity.
441 Guardian Angels
(these are the bottom edge of the high seraphs) Mercy, Peace, Joy etc - other noteworthy but not so often seen angels from the bible. Some have fighting abilities while others don't. It depends on what their past was. A Guardian angel associated with life and birth would not be able to kill. Their primary function was to guide a human to their destined place in the world. They oversaw a great deal and had the greatest freedom when walking on Earth. They were the least susceptible to tainting on Earth and the most accessible to humanity - in some ways they were more understanding of the human plight.
194478 All other angels
(lower seraphs) who had minor rolls and functions through the scheme of things
Consider that less than HALF of the angels revolted...maybe about 1/4 at best few from the highest order are on Earth or in Hell today. Many Angels were killed in the revolt, but it is uncertain if their ranks were simply replaced or if a new Angel was made to take their place.
It IS known though that the Angelic order has increased exponentially.... as has the demons in Hell. They are preparing for a great battle....
Also, there is nothing at all stopping someone from playing an Angel. A TRUE Angel. You may pick one if you like, but remember they are governed by a very strict code of ethics and must not be tainted by worldly desires. Could be interesting to see a Seraph and Angel fight...LOL
But if you wanna pick an Angel, contact Threnody before applying =^_-=
Redemption
Seraphs are all evil right? Wrong! After so many eons, some of them are starting to regret their choices and wish to return from their Fallen status. It doesn't always happen, but sometimes the "good" in their soul outweighs the bad and the gates of Heaven are offered to them once again. They must repent their sins though before entering the Gate when it opens
The Gate
- it's like a sudden brilliant ray of light. Warm, loving and absolute. Few who see it can resist the desire to go into it. It is, the ultimate "womb" of an Angel's being. If they accept and enter the Gate, the Seraph's body will dissipate, and a new Angelic form will be reborn in the rubble.
A Seraph that attains Redemption will lose their demon form, and their Angelic form will be a blurred version of their original Angelic form. Also there will be some distinctive traits or markings that are non-Angelic on their altered Angel form. Perhaps they'd have black tipped wings, or they will have dark markings on their arms or legs or their hair will be a muted coloring.
Powers:
Seraphs in their human forms, can float slightly above the ground - they do not fall unless someone or something is acting against them, they do not have to eat, though they enjoy the luxury of very fine cuisine.
They do feel an itch after being human for too long and have to stretch their wings periodically or they will suffer terrible back aches - the wings are sort of "displaced" into a "nothingness" between realities. The Seraph's real body - and thus wings are still there and become stiffened from disuse and all except for perhaps badly wounded Seraphs, should be able to go into a human form as well as their real Seraph form.
Seraphs all have these powers:
Winged Flight (of course),
Slight Psionic power (lifting small objects, mind speech, mental barrier),
Immortality (as long as they're not mortally wounded)
General Regeneration (as long as the limb isn't severed and the wound cauterized) ... but the head is another thing! No head? No Seraph. Also major organs do not grow back)
Seraphic Blood:
By ‘giving’ a drop of Seraphic blood to a human, they will gain some small feats of enhanced healing, faster reflexes, psionic powers, enhanced senses or flight. But it is temporary only and the human “Childe”, to coin a phrase from vampiric society, must return to the one who imbued them.
More than a drop of seraphic blood is a bad thing. So don’t think, “oh I’ll just drink a pint and be Uber powerful.” Not going to happen. More than a drop of Seraph blood will instantly kill a human, as Seraphic blood is truly a poison. Those who are given Seraphic blood undergo massive seizures and vomiting for several minutes afterward. But for that small price, they are able to do inhuman feats for almost a month! Not too bad a trade-off! Except it is a wear on one’s body. Once the effects of the Blood wear off, the human body begins to deteriorate. So usually a person who’s tasted the Blood, is addicted to the Blood for the rest of their short life. Wildseed CAN NOT be imbued. Their body instantly rejects Seraphic blood but they die a slow painful death since their body reacts to it like one would react to an allergic reaction.
Higher Seraphs DO NOT give their Blood to humans. It simply doesn’t work. They’re too old, too powerful and too poisonous to give even a drop without killing a human who swallows it. Besides, they rarely stoop to even being bothered with humanity at all.
Gift of Miracles
A Gift granted by God to all his Angels, including the now fallen Seraph. Once, and only once, in their lifetime an Angel uses this gift and performs a miracle, though it must be a pure miracle, used only for good and true intentions. The type of miracle that it can be and it's strength depends on how strong the Angel is. Using this ability would cost the Seraph/Angel their very essence though.
So usually Seraphs, being very self-serving, would not use this ability. In point of fact almost NO seraph remembers they even have this ability because it is so "GOOD". It doesn't fit into their plans at all.
Examples of Miracles:
Lower Seraphs:
Grant Fertility to a barren couple
Cure a fatal disease (not in it's advanced stages though)
Someone "luckily" finds their missing sibling of 10 yrs
Gift the dying with a few more months to live (advanced disease or illness)
Higher Seraphs:
Cure someone of advanced disease (cancer, aids, etc)
Restore life to someone who's died (within 1hr of death)
Physically bring back a missing person (person just appears)
Highest level (only the Cherubim or higher angels):
Restore another Angel's life
Redeem another Angel/Seraph to Heaven
Grant life to a group of people (up to 10 - 2hr after death)
Grant 1 life (less than 1 day dead)
Grant their Divine gift to a multitude
-ex Angel of Love, could give Love into the hearts of a
crowd of 100 or more. So that they would find a great
"Love" and joy in the course of their lifetime. These
are often the slowest Miracles to come about but also the
most effective AND most wide spread. The seed may be
there for a long time before it blossoms, but when it
does, it always blossoms true. So don't fight it!
If an Angel/Seraph doesn't use their Gift before they die, the Gift is returned to Heaven and there it is "reborn" into that Angel. The new Angel is not the exact same, it has very similar personality, and often traits, but only has vague recollection of the past life. It begins anew, with a clean slate.
If it were a Seraph, the Seraph has the choice to be redeemed, or to go to hell and shed all semblance of angelic form. They will be a Demon forever then. No redemption, no chance of freedom given again. Ever.
Sometimes.... Gifts can counteract one another. If 2 Angels/Seraph use their gift on the same person or in almost the same way - sometimes...things get interesting. (Use the imagination folks!)
Sharing:
As stated above. It's similar to the Imbuing the Lower Seraph do to their human lackeys, but instead of blood, it's an exchange of essence - or life force.... or soul between two Seraphs. It's tricky, requires a LOT of concentration and NO distractions. It can severely warp or even destroy a Seraph/Angel if it's done incorrectly or interrupted. It's very rarely done. Seraphs don't like to share!
It is used in order to pass on vital information or powers from one Higher Seraph, to their Apprentice. But of course, like I said before.... Seraphs don't like to share. So a Seraph who does this is probably expecting to be killed by their apprentice as soon as the younger one knows how to use the power. It's very VERY rarely done. Period
Divine Weapons:
Some Angels/Seraphs have divine weapons granted to them from God. Those who are Seraphs have corrupted those weapons and the weapon undoubtedly has taken on some looks of corruption.
No other Seraph can use these Divine weapons. ONLY the one it was meant for. If another tries to use it, they will find themselves shocked or burned or in some other form of pain.
If two Higher Seraph "share" their essence in order to also share their power, it can muddle with the weapon as well. It may reject BOTH users...or become accustomed to the wrong user. A Divine Weapon in the signature of it's Angelic counter part...you don't want just ANY old body running around with your stamp now do you?
And so finally we come to the boring bit …
How to Kill a Seraph 101
Decapitation
Total Disembodiment (a.k.a. hack to pieces far beyond regeneration)
Burnt to Ashes (And Nothing less)
Cut off their wings and make them bleed to death. That is one thing that if not treated will NOT regenerate quickly enough for them to not die.
When wings are severed, Seraph’s have been known to go into extreme shock and become prone to insanity and incoherent rambling. They can and will attack any and all things around them and it's almost impossible to get them under control, due to their unpredictable power usage as they push everything away from themselves. Another Seraph would HAVE to get close enough to get them down though in order to treat their wound. Or just stand back and watch them slowly bleed to death...
Wings are THE most sensitive area on a Seraph and it is extremely excruciating for them to be lost. Also it is the greatest vanity of all Seraphs. Immaculate wings. If a Seraph ever has their wings damaged, even when they heal, the others will think less of them. Wings must be protected above all other body part on a seraph.

- Seraph Hierarchy (Totally Tasteless)
lowchensaustralia.com/names/angels.htm (Angel Names from Panther Bijou)
One Last word of warning:
There are certain Angels who, for one of several reasons, cannot have fallen and thus cannot be used as Seraph.
Reason 1:
The angel plays a prominent role in Biblical history. An example of this would be Gabriel, who brings the news to Mary that she has been chosen. The reason these angels must remain pure is that they did- remember that the Fall happened before the creation of mankind. The other named archangels, Raphael and Michael, fall into this same category.
Reason 2:
The angel is too key a part of the heavenly hierarchy. A prime example would be Metatron, who serves as the voice of god to all lesser beings, who cannot stand the direct glory of their creator. The loyalty of this angel or any similar being is too unshakeable to have fallen.
It should be noted that some Seraph may in fact bear one of these names; however, these are only pseudonyms. They are sometimes chosen as deliberate presumptions on the status of a higher angel, or simply because (as in the case of Michael) the name is a common Christian appelation. It should be taken into consideration that this may draw the unfavorable attention of the namesake! The creator of a character who uses such a pseudonym should either note or keep in mind a true name.
