Greg and I have been sailing together since 2003 on my Capri 25
"No Brakes". In Dec 2004, we joined together to purchase a One
Design to trailer to the Open Regattas in the S.A.I.L. area. The U20 has
proven to be a good choice. I started sailing in '64. First time
on a sail boat was as crew in a summer regatta on Barnegaut Bay, NJ. The
boat was an M16 scow,
"MaiTai" with a high school CC buddy. We raced that summer and
I went on to race in college. Since that time I have owned scows, catarmarins, an O'Day 23 ('78) ,
a Capri 25 ('86) and now the U20 ('96) . I became a
US Sailing Judge in '90 and continue to serve as the US Sailing Appeals chair
for the S.A.I.L. area.

years experience. Started out with a Hobie 16, my 1st boat and learned the
hard way. Definitely learned how to right that boat. Moved on to mono hulls
with a MacGregor 26 for a few years and that's when the racing bug got me. I
moved up to a Merit 25 named Mirage, put together a race crew and raced that
boat for some 10 years. We competed very strongly and won our share of
regattas. Purchased the U20 in January of 2002 with a bit of a learning curve
there coming from a big Genoa driven keel boat to the little jib and power
house main sail, not to mention the Asymmetrical spinnaker. Having a great
time and love the speed. Other sailing adventures include sailing the Newport
Ensenada race 7 times in various boats. One very notable year was placing 3rd in the
Hobie 33 fleet, sailing on Star Duster out of Long Beach. I've had
the pleasure of some ocean racing and deliveries both on the Atlantic and the
Pacific. Raced to Bermuda in the Annapolis Bermuda ocean race in 2004. I also
enjoy chartering in the Caribbean when ever possible witch is usually every
year or two and I'm due for another soon.
