Karen was born with Cystic Fibrosis and almost died shortly after birth. But our little angel was a fighter and never gave up. As she grew up she kept that fighting spirit and was determined to live life to the fullest. She was very special to her mother and I. She was our miracle that grew up into a fine young woman. At times, it was very hard for her, as she knew what CF was going to do to her. Until the end she always had hopes for a cure.
Karen always wanted to raise a family, and in 1989 she took in Brian Ulanowicz, her cousin, to raise after his mother died in a hit-and-run accident.
In 1993, Stanley Anthony was born. Stanley also has Cystic Fibrosis and had problems when he was born. Then in 1995, Tristan Bradley was born. Like Stanley, Tristan also was born with Cystic Fibrosis and had many problems shortly after birth. Through it all, Karen had the fortitude to keep going.
We loved Karen dearly and always will miss her. We know in our hearts that she is an angel and will forever be in our hearts. Even though she was only 28 when she died, she left an indelible mark on all the lives she touched.
