OUR COLONIAL ANCESTORS
Our colonial ancestor's, descendants of Kings of Ireland,
Scotland and nobility of England and of common men.
They ventured across the seas, some free and others convicts to new lands leaving loved one's to shed their tears never to see them ever more.
Some to the
Americas and some to Australia they came in ships of appalling conditions.
Some would die on the way and were buried at sea some would reach the new land but only to die as they set foot on the new land far from their birth place across the seas.
Moving on bullock drays they searched for a place they would claim and toil the lands.
Some times droughts and flooding rains would claim their lands again they would move and claim new lands.
I have walked through the places where they toil no more with only a headstone to show they were here.
I have been back to their birth places of ancient lands to stand in churches where they worshiped. I am their  blood  their  sweat  their  joy and their  tears, how proud  I stand  in awe of our colonial ancestors.
