Geneva "Jenny" Winders
84, of Morganfield died Monday, May 5, 2003 at Redbanks Nursing Home in Henderson.
She was preceded in death by her parents James Henry Winders and Allie Mae Maynard Winders, four sisters, Stella Pearl Perkins, Mabel Myrtle Frances Winders, Ira Louella Winders, and Ruth Mae Winders, and two brothers, Willie Winders and Andrew Earl Winders.
Survivors include six nieces, Stella Mae Mowbray of Pineville, Ky., Mary Frances Collins, Geneva Fuqua, and Anna Ruth Hosman, all of Morganfield, Dorothy Nell Jackman of Harrison, Ark., and Willie Mae Henderson of Lexington, Ky.; three nephews, James Owen Perkins of Monmouth, Ill., James "Buddy" Winders of Madisonville, and Robert D. Winders of Morganfield; several great- nieces and nephews; and several great-great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Whitsell Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 8, with Revs. Zach Hibbs and Don Collins officiating. Burial will be in the Odd Fellow Cemetery in Morganfield.
Friends may call from 4 till 8 p.m., today, Wednesday, at Whitsell Funeral Home in Morganfield and until service time Thursday.
Patsy Hazel Abell
54, of Morganfield died Saturday, May 3, 2003 at St. John's Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Priscilla and Billy Utley.
Survivors include her husband, James Rigdon ; her mother, Velma Frost of Morganfield; two daughters, Patty Post of Potosi, Mo. and Angela Utley of Morganfield; two sisters, Joanne Hansbrough of Sturgis and Theresa Little of Morganfield; three brothers, Truman Hazel of Danville, Ark., Ernest Hazel of Scott City, Mo., and Jerry Hazel of Morganfield; live-in companions Edgar and Becky Carrier; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 8, at 2:30 p.m. at Whitsell Funeral Home in Morganfield with Rev. Bill Ervin officiating. Burial will be in the Hazel Bend Cemetery in Sturgis.
Friends may call from 2 till 8 p.m. today, Wednesday and until funeral time on Thursday.
Joe Douglas Ferrell
32, of Sturgis, died Sunday afternoon, May 4, 2003 at Methodist Hospital Union County.
Survivors include his wife Lisa; his parents Herman and Shirley Ferrell of Sturgis; three daughters, Whitley, Jessica and Emily Ferrell, all of Sturgis; one sister, Amanda Ferrell Curry of Grundy, Va.; two brothers, Bobby Ferrell of Clay and Tony Ferrell of Sturgis.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., today, Wednesday, May 7, at Whitsell Funeral Home in Sturgis with Rev. Randy Farthing officiating. Burial will be in the Pythian Ridge Cemetery in Sturgis.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time today at the funeral home.

87, of Caseyville, died at 5:51 p.m., Sunday, May 4, 2003 at his residence in Caseyville.
Papa Daddy, as he was affectionately known, was a lifetime member of Caseyville United Methodist Church, a 26-year member of the UMWA, and a member of the Masonic Lodge 659.
He was preceded in death by his parents John and Ollie Owen, three brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include his wife Margaret "Mother" Day Owen of Caseyville; four daughters, Hilda Harper and Velda Bealmear, both of Sturgis, and Ethel Omer and Pam Utley, both of Caseyville; three sons, Ralph and Bob Owen, both of Sturgis and John Owen, of Caseyville; two sisters, Mary Cutsinger and Lydia Marshall, both of Sturgis; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., today, Wednesday, May 7, at the Caseyville Methodist Church with Revs. Jim Nicholson and Robert Phillips officiating. Burial will be in the Caseyville Cemetery.

Hazel "Tiny" Padgett
78, of Morganfield, died at 11:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 29, 2003 at Methodist Hospital Union County.
Mrs. Padgett was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Morganfield.
She was preceded in death by her husband Leroy Padgett, April 13, 2003; and a daughter Bonnie Kay Padgett.
Survivors include two sons, Larry Padgett of Boynton Beach, Fla., and Dennis Padgett, of Cave-in-Rock, Ill.; one brother, Dewey Davenport of Henderson; nine grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 2 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Morganfield with Father Terry Devine officiating. Burial was in the St. Ann Cemetery.
Georgia Renee Kline
43, of Elkhart, Ind., died at 8:32 p.m., Monday, April 28, 2003 at Elkhart General Hospital, after a brief illness.
Mrs. Kline was born in Corydon, Ky., Oct. 10, 1959 to Gail Rita and George C. Nelson and graduated from ECHS in 1978.
She was an avid Mickey Mouse collector and enthusiast and enjoyed the outdoors.
She married Michael L. Kline, July 3, 2001. She had worked in the past as a licensed optometrist and also worked as a cashier at the Elkhart Area Sav-a-Lot.
Survivors include her husband Michael; her parents George and Gail Nelson of Corydon; two daughters, Wendy L. Opdyke of Elkhart and Christen Epp and her husband Ryan of Elkhart; one son, George C. "Chandler" Nelson Jr., of Elkhart; one stepdaughter, Nichole Kline of Elkhart; two stepsons, Thomas Kline and his wife Justine of Mishawaka, Ind., and Daniel Kline of Elkhart; one brother Leo Nelson; one sister, Frances Nelson of Mishawaka; and four grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Friday, May 2, at the Odd Fellow Cemetery in Morganfield.
Whitsell Funeral Home of Morganfield was in charge of local arrangements.
