---A Pictorial History---
Definitions:
Auto-Da-Fé (lit: "Act of Faith"): A medieval public spectacle,
full of pomp and ceremony, wherein persons condemned to death by the Inquisition were executed, often by burning
at the stake. See Encarta for more details.
LART (Luser Attitude
Readjustment Tool): A metaphorical Big Stick carried by sysadmins, such as Erols.com's
Legendary Afterburner (S.P.U.T.U.M. Unit 88); used to readjust the attitudes of misbehaving
users, as in "I shall LART this spammer's account into microscopic pink fragments in response to his net.abuse."
Auto-Duh-LART: A modern spectacle wherein kooks such as Richard
the Stupid save sysadmins the time and trouble of digging up proof of their misdeeds on the net by posting
incriminating and/or disparaging information about themselves...often completely unintentionally. Requires
extreme lack of intelligence to execute properly.
