Art as Parody

...or wazzup with the hamsters and the wanted posters?

The graphics you see on the CENKOC index1 page are ORIGINAL works of art, redrawn practically pixel by pixel by CNS Unit 12 (SPUTUM/CNS Web Master and graphics consultant). They are based on the picture uploaded to news.admin.net-abuse.usenet by Richard S. Bullis on 23 April 99 in the following article:

Lysandra spooner and others from news.admin-net-abuse.usenet have launched a
campaign to rid non binary groups of all binary postings.
Piss any of these gods and queens off and they will surely cancel anything
you posted.
In any group. Text or photos.

Lysandra Spooner is a false identiy. If he finds out you have used a true
domain name in your return path, you will have hell to pay for doing so.

Something such as not@aol.com
If it is a proper domain name, registered or otherwise, you are in jeopardy
of being cancelled.

If you use remarq, you are in jeopardy of becoming a member of the spammers
community.
These people are not playing games.
They are on a campaign to clean up the usenet.
Regardless of how you feel and what you have to say.

Your rights are being screwed with.
Are you going to sit back and watch this newsgroup be cancelled?

If you think I'm full of shit, watch this post very carefully.
It will suddenly disappear right before your eyes.

Laugh now, cry when your hard work goes down the tubes.

Now, CNS realizes that posting a binary to Usenet does not place a copyrighted graphic into the public domain per se. However, when a net.abuser uses a graphic which is in wide use on the internet in the commission of net.abuse (specifically, posting binaries to the non-binary newsgroup news.admin.net-abuse.usenet), it is well within our rights to use that graphic as a BASIS for an ORIGINAL parody. When a parody uses an image to make a political statement (e.g., "Spammers are as moronic as pink hamsters"), then it becomes protected speech under the U.S. First Amendment. Moreover, to be more technically precise, the SubGenius religion, of which many CNS members are adherents, considers the color pink to be a quintessential SubTheological symbol of Irredeemable Luser Status (as in, "That Pinkboy is lost to the Con"). In accordance with the religious freedom protections built into the Constitution of the United States of America, SubGenius culture and heritage are ALSO protected under the U.S. First Amendment. Take that, Pinkboy. QEFD.

Update: The pictures on the new CENKOC index page are parody adaptations of other pictures found on the net. In no way are they to be taken seriously as actual evidence that Richard S. Bullis, aka RtS, is wanted by any law enforcement agency for crimes such as collecting child pornography, death threats, felony idiocy, or internet abuse.

For more information on parody, and the wide-ranging protections granted it under U.S. and international law, you are referred to our CNS parody page, linked to from our Jason and the Spamonauts parody site.

Of note, the background .wav file, sputdedo2.wav, has been extensively edited as well, is also considered to be part of our parody. The original source upon which it is based is also widely distributed on the Net, and is found on many sites as a "freeware" resource for download.

NOW, on with the CENKOC Award!
