He married Martha Frances Rucker Speir Evers before 1869.⁽⁹⁴⁴⁾ (Martha Frances Rucker Speir Evers is #156.) Martha was born in Griffin, Georgia March 19, 1835. Martha⁽⁹⁴⁵⁾ was the daughter of Arden Somers Rucker and Ann R. Pope Rucker. Martha died March 2, 1914 in Plant City, Hillsborough Cty, Florida, at 78 years of age. Her body was interred March 4, 1914 in Oaklawn Cem., Plant City, FL. Martha became the mother of Allison Hackney Speir in Suwannee Cty., Florida. At 20 years of age Martha became the mother of Cullen Pope Speir,M.D. in Georgia, 1855. At 20 years of age Martha became the mother of Mary Luda Speir Hawkins in Georgia, December 11, 1855. At 22 years of age Martha became the mother of Anna Missouri Speir Hawkins in Suwannee Cty., Florida, January 31, 1858. At 24 years of age Martha became the mother of Robert Beasley Speir in Wadley, Jefferson Cty., Georgia, March 8, 1860. At 31 years of age Martha became the mother of Jesse A. Evers August 6, 1866. Martha became the mother of Frances Virginia Evers Burts circa 1869. At 36 years of age Martha became the mother of Rowena Lee Evers Mays in Alafia, Florida, September 6, 1871. At 39 years of age Martha became the mother of Minnie Rucker Evers Waver March 31, 1874. At 41 years of age Martha became the mother of Mary Emma Evers Reed March 31, 1876. At 43 years of age Martha became the mother of Annie Elizabeth Evers Osborn October 25, 1878.

At 18 years of age James became the father of Jesse A. Evers August 6, 1866. James became the father of Frances Virginia Evers Burts circa 1869. At 23 years of age James became the father of Rowena Lee Evers Mays in Alafia, Florida, September 6, 1871. At 25 years of age James became the father of Minnie Rucker Evers Waver March 31, 1874. At 27 years of age James became the father of Mary Emma Evers Reed March 31, 1876. At 30 years of age James became the father of Annie Elizabeth Evers Osborn October 25, 1878.

James Taylor Evers and Martha Frances Rucker Speir Evers had the following children:

3 ii. Frances Virginia Evers Burts⁽⁹⁴⁷⁾ (#290) was born circa 1869. Frances died in Tampa, Hillsborough Cty, Florida. She married Charles O. Burts July 1891.⁽⁹⁴⁸⁾ (Charles O. Burts is #292.) She married Samuel Edward Mays January 30, 1891.⁽⁹⁵¹⁾ (Samuel Edward Mays is #293.) Samuel was born in Pendleton, South Carolina December 19, 1864. Samuel⁽⁹⁵²⁾ was the son of Samuel Elias Mays and Catherine (N.m.n.) Moseley Mays. Samuel died February 4, 1932 in Plant City, Hillsborough Cty, Florida, at 67 years of age. His body was interred in Oaklawn Cem., Plant City, FL. Samuel's occupation: Real Estate. At 29 years of age Samuel became the father of Miriam Rowena Mays Lee in Plant City, Hillsborough Cty, Florida, April 1, 1894. At 37 years of age Samuel became the father of Katherine F. Mays Merckle Martinez in Plant City, Hillsborough Cty, Florida, January 18, 1902. At 40 years of age Samuel became the father of Samuel Edwin Mays in Plant City, Hillsborough Cty, Florida, October 21, 1905. At 34 years of age Rowena became the mother of Samuel Edwin Mays in Plant City, Hillsborough Cty, Florida, October 21, 1905. At 38 years of age Rowena became the mother of James Arden Mays in Plant City, Hillsborough Cty, Florida, March 1, 1910.

5 iv. Minnie Rucker Evers Waver⁽⁹⁵³⁾ (#200) was born March 31, 1874. Minnie died in Plant City, Hillsborough Cty, Florida. She married Luther R. Waver June 12, 1894.⁽⁹⁵⁴⁾ (Luther R. Waver is #294.)
