Drone # One : Dewey

These are a series of images detailing the continuing work on my 3D "Silent Running " Drone # 1 model. It's sort of like a model kit that you work on those rare moments of free time between paying projects. I've been asked what I used for reference, and the best source has been Cinefex # 8 and the film itself.

If you are a fan of the movie, check out the DVD version which includes a great behind the scenes look at the making of the film. A good portion of that is devoted to the creation of the drones.

The Drone model 90% plus finished.  All that's left is to complete the robotic arm.

The model is now more realistic with the completion of new surface maps I created in Adobe Photoshop 5.0.
