Vancouver Peace and Justice Fair is Sept 12, 2009
Last Updated Sept 29, 2008

We are an ad-hoc group of citizens of Clark County, Washington working together for the dream of peace and justice for all. Through nonviolent action, our website, listservs and meetings we provide a way for groups and individuals to communicate, connect and organize together. Watch our website for meeting times, events and how to be involved. If you have energy to work for peace and justice, we’ll try to support you. Your ideas and passion can find a home with Vancouver for Peace.

Tell others about us with this VFP Information Flyer in pdf format.

HOW VANCOUVER FOR PEACE WORKS.

We have no membership, no bylaws, no officers, no hierarchy and try to work by consensus.  We are non-sectarian and non-partisan.

We focus on doing things for peace and justice.  We try to minimize meetings.  We are all volunteer with no staff.

Everything that we do happens because someone decides to do it and makes it happen.  We try to be a place people can find help when they want to do something.

We are happy to collaborate with other groups in the community.  We would like to find ways to support young people in our community that want to work for peace and justice.

More will get done if more people lead as they feel the need or call. No one can do everything, but everyone can do something.

Our first meeting was January 2, 2003. About 50 people attended. Groups represented included: Clark County Green Party, Michael Servetus Unitarian Universalist Fellowship Social Action Committee & Peace and Justice Committee, SW Washington Center for Social and Environmental Justice, St. Luke Episcopal Church Social Justice Group, Greater Vancouver Interfaith Association, SW Washington Peace and Social Justice Center, Cherry Grove Friends Church, East Vancouver United Methodist Church, Multnomah Monthly Meeting of Friends (Quaker), Trinity Lutheran Church, West Hills Friends Church (Quaker), Fellowship of Reconciliation
