Installing a Topping Lift

The Topping Lift holds the boom up making it easier to raise and lower the sail

Small Cheek Block attached to mast top

(this one uses a Harken 233 Micro Block)

Block is attached with 1/8" SS Rivets
Snap Clip at end of line clips to eye strap on boom

Some booms may need to have an eye strap added

A "track stop" is used in the mast track to
hold up the gooseneck end

Line length used here is 42'

3" Horn Cleat is located so topping line is clear of Halyard

Some sailors prefer a fixed line from the mast top to the boom and
simply install an eye strap instead of the micro block
