Strategy 6: Insist on "change over time" instead of "evolution"
School boards and state standards committees are constantly rewriting curriculum guidelines on life science instruction, so there are plenty of relatively unsupervised opportunities to replace the word, "evolution," with the phrase, "change over time." In large documents, this can be done very easily with a "global" search and replace menu command. If you are caught making these changes you can always claim that the phrase communicates the concept better than "evolution," which is a word many students don't understand. If the revisions are done more publicly, with debate among school board members, asking for the above change can make persons with religious affiliations (that's you!) appear "moderate" and "accomodating."
