Strategy 8: Suggest the use of "disclaimers"
Sometimes, school boards will purchase instructional materials that portray evolution as the only explanation for life's origins. To counteract this, concerned parents are encouraged to request the use of "disclaimers" that can alert students to other views. These dislaimers can be simply read to the class before certain lessons, or can be printed and attached to the material directly. The use of disclaimers is extraordinarily effective.
Wording for the disclaimers must be carefully chosen so as not to appear overtly religious. Please let me know (vanandel1@comcast.net) if you are interested in devloping a disclaimer but would like to see some examples, or if you'd like to speak with a member of our legal team for advice on a disclaimer you have already developed.
