Sara Vanderkleed is a well known contemporary artist in the Midwest.  Her most recent series is inspired by elements in the rural midwest such as grain elevators, silos and old buildings.  She's using a fresh approach with hot pressed paper and using fun tools such as architectural templates and a protractor.
