Sailing Squadron RacingIf
you have a suitable boat and would like to spend some fun time on the
water at
the expense of VSS, we have a deal for you. We normally hold
around-the-buoy sailboat races on the first Saturday of every month
from October
through May in the Gulf near the Venice inlet. The VSS Board of
Directors has authorized $50 per race day to help cover expenses for
boat owners
who provide a committee boat that can accommodate the Race
Committee and deploy the racing marks. Any boat owner can sign up
for one race day or for all of them. It would be expected (but
not necessary) that
the boat owner would be the operator of the boat and there would be
some room on board for some friends or family. The normal
committment is from 10 AM to about 4 PM on race
