July 16 there will be a pot luck dinner following the ThursdayRoad Ride. Call Amy at 802-362-3146 and let her know how many will be coming and what you are bringing to eat. Non-riders are welcome at the Pot Luck. The ride for the evening will be the Classic Climbs of the Valley, such as the steep side of Morse Hill and Nichols Hill Rd. - that way we won't be too far away from the food! In the event of rain the ride is cancelled but the Pot Luck will take place.

The ThursdayRoadRide on July 2, 2009 will be about 45 miles. Leaving Battenkill Sports Bike shop it will proceed north on Route 7a and Route 7 to Danby, climb the Brook Road to Danby 4 Corners (why is it there are only 3 corners there, eh?), then proceed along the Danby Pawlet Rd. to Pawlet and turning south follow Route 30 back to Battenkill Sports. The first 15 miles are pretty flat - for Vermont - and the last 15 miles are pretty flat, too, fortunately the middle 15 miles are not.

Hi!

This is where I plan to explain changes in the Thursday Road Ride schedule or possibly just vent on some arcane subject (like the lack of basic road maintenance that has forced me to drive to work instead of ride my bike this winter). This might become the section I'll use for descriptions of places to ride for specific purposes, e.g. easy routes with children, or really long, hilly, dirt road rides, or places to mountain bike (that are actually legal). I'm pretty certain this site will be evolving, at least until I get a REAL website designed and up and running.  If I can get this site to do what I'd like it to do, well, the real website might never happen.

  Cheers, Bill
