Joined when the company's ability to grow was constrained by the information systems architecture. Developed the IT department to support a rapidly growing organization.

  • Worked as part of the executive management team to define agreed upon business requirements, translated those requirements into systems requirements and guided the selection and implementation of a new ERP system and supporting system architecture.
  • Established best practices, policies and procedures to ensure predictable outcomes.
  • Achieved and maintained a high level of user support in a geographically dispersed organization.

The new system architecture and matured organization allowed Powercell to double in size, reduce the accounting close cycle by 50% and reduce inventory by 30%.

IT Director, Thomas and Betts Europe

Selected to rationalize an underperforming multi-national IT environment and staff assembled from multiple acquisitions. Consolidated the IT organization while continuing to provide day-to-day IT services to the user and customer communities.

  • As part of the executive management team, worked with business unit managers to develop an agreed upon plan for a consolidated IT systems architecture.
  • Led the consolidation effort, which was spread out across multiple countries and divisions.
  • Established organization wide IT policies and procedures to ensure a consistent level of service.
  • Created a virtual IT organization focused on building a unified IT environment.

The new IT architecture resulted in the reduction of order fulfillment costs by 50%, customer service costs by 65%, and the accounting close cycle from three weeks to three days. These improvements enabled the rapid assimilation of two more acquisitions.
