TESTS
(FLOWABILITY AND STRENGTH)
HEM mixture - cement : sand : water : HRWR = 1 : 2 : 0.45 : 0.01
CONVENTIONAL MIXTURE - cement : sand : water : HRWR = 1 : 2 : 0.45 : 0.006
(the amount of HRWRr is the maximum permissible before bleeding of
water)
HRWR - (SPECCO, Inc.)
W-30 Summer - Sodium naphthalene

W-30 Winter - Calcium naphthalene sulfonate polymer
W-30 White - Melamine-formaldehyde-sodium bisulfite copolymer

HEM technology is observed to have an average increase of 72% in flow ability, and 32% in strength.
HEM AND MICROSILICA
Two mixtures having flow 90 - 100 mm consisting of cement, sand and water
proportioned respectively 1 : 2 : (0.36 - 0.37) were prepared with high-energy and
ordinary mixing. 10% of the cement in the second mixture was substituted for
micro silica.
The prepared samples - cylinders 1" in diameter and 1" in
height were cured in normal conditions and tested after 28 days. The results
are given bellow.
Therefore, applying the micro
silica into HEM mixtures instead of part of cement increases its strength by
more than 10%.
