AS A PROTECTOR OF STEEL STRUCTURES

 

Concrete is a good protector against corrosion

BECAUSE

HOWEVER

We do not use concrete as a protective coating for steel structures

BECAUSE

It is almost impossible for concrete to preserve the above-mentioned qualities, once it is sprayed onto the steel surface.

BUT, WE CAN USE HEM-mortar

BECAUSE

The following example clearly demonstrates the protective qualities of HEM-mortar:

 

The moistened sample. The products of corrosion cover the unprotected surface.

 

The sample before breaking up of protector.

 

The products of corrosion do not penetrate the steel surface coated with HEM-mortar.

 

 

 

The protective coatings made of HEM-mortar are not destroyed by the freezing and thawing tests even after 325 cycles (thawing in fresh water).
