About Us

Lawrence A Sims Post 2269 and the Ladies Auxiliary are very proud of our home in Wixom Michigan.

VFW Post 2269 and the Ladies Auxiliary participate in the VFW Adopt-A-Unit Program and have adopted the 406th Corps Support Battalion, now stationed in Uzbekistan.

Our Post sponsors two Cub Scout packs and a Boy Scout Troup which hold monthly meetings in the hall. The Ladies sponsor a Girl Scout Troup.

We are hosts to the Bisons Sportsmans Club and American Legion Post 224 and their support groups.

Post 2269 has received All-State recognition for the past four years, and the Ladies Auxiliary President was awarded National Aide-De-Camp in 2003. We are involved in many community, County, District and State charitable functions, including, but not limited to:

	Support of the VFW National Home for Children
	Attendance at local, county, state and national VFW meetings, conferences and events.
	Holding fund raisers to support many VFW and local charities.
	Flag raising ceremonies at City Halls, nursing homes, and private ceremonies
	Funeral services for deceased comrades.
	Annual Christmas, Easter and Halloween parties for local children.
	Flag Etiquette classes and Flag raisings at our local schools
	Participation in the Voice of Democracy and Patriots Pen school competitions.
	Use of our hall for charitable functions sponsored by the American Legion and their support groups.
	Providing assistance to the cities of Wixom and Walled Lake at many of their events.
	Visit homebound and hospitalized veterans and support the V.A. Hospitals.

In attaining our goals, we also have a lot of fun, enjoying the camaraderie as only veterans of the U.S. Military, and their families are known to share with one another.
