Brian M. Love | Kayla E. Anderson | Ulmer Zack Bridges, III (Zeke)



Brian M. Love, Law Clerk

Brian M. Love is originally from Binghamton, New York, and has resided in Cary, North Carolina for over 10 years. Brian graduated from Cary’s Green Hope High School in 2003, where he played on the school’s varsity baseball team. In 2006, Brian was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree with Honors from the University of South Carolina (USC) in Political Science and German.

Before joining the staff at BLF | Bridges Law Firm, PLLC, Brian has spent the last few years as an undergraduate at USC. During his time at USC, Brian had the interest and opportunity to become fluent in German having studied German history and language during the summer of 2006 at the Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg in Germany. In addition, he conducted research for USC’s Political Science Department.

During his years at USC, Brian was a University Ambassador, giving tours to both prospective students and student-athletes. He played an integral role in the recruitment of football players for his university’s head football coach, Steve Spurrier. Brian also ran a student organization of nearly one thousand members for over two years, working in concert with the university’s Athletic Department to facilitate student involvement in university athletics.

Brian joined BLF in March of 2007.  As a law clerk, Brian is responsible for legal research and the drafting of many legal documents for the Firm.  Brian brings to BLF a professional demeanor, hard working values and incredible organizational skills.  Brian contributes his business acumen and exceptional interpersonal skills in a way that puts our clients at ease.  “Brian is very conscientious and personable”, is a comment we receive almost daily from our business associates and clients.

On a personal note, Brian enjoys closely following college football and professional baseball. Brian is an avid reader on politics, history, cabinetmaking and traveling. Brian’s career goals include the completion of his Juris Doctor degree, practicing law and someday running for and holding political office.

Kayla E. Anderson, Administrative Assistant/Intern

Kayla E. Anderson is originally from the mountains of Asheville, North Carolina, and relocated to Raleigh, North Carolina three years ago to attend North Carolina State University.  Kayla is the only daughter of Andy and Michelle Anderson of Candler, North Carolina.  She graduated from Enka High School in 2005, where she was the school’s valedictorian, student body president, and a member of the varsity cheerleading team.  In 2005, Kayla was awarded the Park Scholarship from North Carolina State University and began to pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree in both Communication with a Media concentration, and Women and Gender Studies, with a minor in Political Science.

Prior to becoming a part of the staff at BLF | Bridges Law Firm, PLLC, Kayla has spent the last three years as an undergraduate at NC State.  In addition to attending NC State, Kayla is also a member of the University’s dance team.  As a part of the team, Kayla performs at all Wolfpack home football and men’s basketball games.  The past three years that Kayla has belonged to this team, they have placed in the top ten in the Nation, placing third in 2006.  Kayla was also awarded the honor of being named an All-American for the 2007-2008 season.  You can learn more about Kayla’s dance team experience at the team’s website at www.ncstatedanceteam.org or at www.gopack.com, which is NC State’s Athletics home page.

Now beginning her fourth and final year of undergraduate school, Kayla has been named to the Dean’s List every semester at the University.  She has also been named a NC State Scholar-Athlete, demonstrating both athletic and academic excellence.  Kayla has done a great deal of volunteer work within the community, including working as a tutor/mentor at Poe Elementary School and helping her dance team send care packages to U.S. troops through the Back Home Box Foundation.  In addition, Kayla worked this past year to organize a University-wide Gallery, which was presented at the school’s Take Back the Night, an event held in protest to violence against women.

Kayla joined BLF in May of 2008.  As an administrative assistant/intern at the Firm, Kayla hopes to gain experience working for the firm as she prepares for law school.  Kayla is responsible for most aspects of the day to day operation of the Firm.  Kayla brings to BLF her positive attitude, motivation and drive, hard working values and incredible organizational skills, which has led to her success in many areas of her life.  Above all, her friendly nature and love of working with people always put our clients at ease. 

On a personal note, Kayla is also the sister of brothers, Matthew and Andrew Anderson.  Matthew graduated from the University of North Carolina Asheville in May of 2008.  Andrew also graduated in May of 2008, but from Enka High School.  When Kayla isn’t working, she and her family enjoy following NC State athletics and taking summer beach trips to the Outer Banks.  Kayla looks forward to completing her Bachelor of Arts Degrees at North Carolina State University in order to continue her education at Law School and one day practice law.

Ulmer Zack Bridges, III, J.D.

Ulmer Zack Bridges, III (Zeke) is originally from Early County located in South Georgia. Bridges was born in Blakely, Georgia and is the oldest son of Ulmer and Vicki Bridges of Augusta, Georgia. Bridges is the grandson of Mrs. Sadie Bridges of Blakely, Georgia and the late U.Z. (Zeke) Bridges, Sr., from whom he received his nickname. Bridges is married to Grace B. Bridges, a French teacher at a local private school. The couple has decided to make Cary, North Carolina their home.

Bridges spent most of his years growing up in Augusta, Georgia where he graduated from high school at Abundant Life Christian Academy, prior to that Bridges was home schooled. In addition to other employment, during high school, Bridges interned at the District Attorney's Office in Augusta, Georgia. Bridges pursued higher education at Young Harris College located in the North Georgia Mountains, where he obtained his Associate of Arts degree in 1997. Bridges then continued at the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia, where he graduated with dual degrees of a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Criminal Justice in 1999. Bridges worked during college at an established local law firm in Athens, Georgia.

Pursuing a law school education, brought Bridges to North Carolina in August of 2000. Bridges is a graduate from the Campbell University Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law at Buies Creek, North Carolina, where he received his Juris Doctor degree in May of 2003. During law school, Bridges worked as a Research Assistant for Webster's Real Estate Law in North Carolina, a state-wide treatise on property law, as the U.S. Supreme Case Law Editor for the Campbell Law Observer, a member of the Christian Legal Society, Secretary of the Men's Legal Caucus, Campbell Law Ambassador, and Law Library Assistant. Additionally, while serving as Student Bar Association (SBA) President Bridges was awarded the David Teddy Innovative Leadership and Service (Student of the Year) Award and the Howard Christian Citizenship Award. Furthermore, Bridges was selected by the law faculty for the Who's Who Among American Law Students. Bridges then clerked for the Honorable David W. Daniel, Clerk of the United States Eastern District Court in Raleigh, North Carolina (current Federal Magistrate Judge, EDNC) and interned at the Wake County District Attorney's Office in Raleigh, North Carolina.

After serving as a partner at a local Cary law firm, Bridges established BLF | Bridges Law Firm, PLLC in early 2004. Today Bridges practices in the areas of real estate law (transactional and litigation) and estate planning. He enjoys these practice areas because they allow him to interact with clients in an "individualized manner" in order to realize their dreams, simplify their lives and help them prepare for the future.

On a more personal note, Bridges was an amateur boxer with the Augusta Boxing Club in Augusta, Georgia. During six years with the Augusta Boxing Club Bridges holds a record of 29 wins out of 35 fights, and has been awarded and holds the following titles: Six-time Golden Glove boxer, Gold in the National P.A.L.S., Silver and Bronze in the National Silver Gloves, Bronze in the Junior Olympic National U.S.A. Tournament and member of the 1993 U.S. Boxing Team at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

In addition to working a 4-month stint at 10 hour days for 7 days a week on a cruise ship in the Caribbean and working at the University of Georgia Golf Course, Bridges has had over 20 jobs since turning the age of 16. Bridges "To-Do List" includes running for local political office, skydiving, lowering his golf score and finding more time to spend with his wife and friends.
