Josie Johnson, Linda Brocato's mom
Dear Friends, please continue to pray for my mom, Josie Johnson. She has been back in the hospital since Friday (She was in UAB for 5 days in mid-December). She has shingles, along with confusion, walking difficulties and pain. They also found some abnormal activity in the brain waves on her EEG - I still don't quite understand what that means, because I haven't had a chance to talk to the Neurologist yet. These things, combined with Multiple Sclerosis and Trigeminal Neuralgia have really taken a toll on her weak body. She will be going to rehab in the next few days. We're not sure what we are facing after that - her weakness along with the fact that she had starting getting her medications confused just before she went into the hospital, make us think that she may have to be placed at an assisted living place of some sort. Please pray for strength and healing for her, and wisdom for her doctors. Also, pray for my brother and I as we try to make these difficult decisions.
I love you. Linda

Kristi Rains
I have a friend I consider dear who was in a college and career class I taught in Russellville. Kristi and her husband, Michael Rains, just got to Peru to work as missionaries, and they got this news. Please lift them up in prayer. Here is a part of their email.
Vic

Now we are dealing with a personal issue that we ask prayer for. We went to our 12th week check-up yesterday for Kristi’s pregnancy. To our dismay, the doctor was not able to find a heartbeat. He did an ultrasound and found out that the baby has been that way for around 4 weeks now. So right after our last ultrasound, which was normal, we lost our baby. We do not know why God allowed this to happen but He sees the whole picture and we trust Him even more. We pray that God will use this situation to reach someone else through our ministry. Pray for us tomorrow (Friday) at 11:00am EST as Kristi has a DNC done and her recovery from this surgery. The doctor said she should be back to normal by Monday. Pray for all of our adjustments to this situation.

Frances Watford
Please pray for my mother, Frances Watford. After showing signs of Alzheimer’s, she was put on medication and began to improve. About a week ago, she fell and hurt her arm, but refused to go with the EMT's to the hospital. She thought the pain would go away in a few days. It didn’t. My older sister went to see them, and managed to get mom in to see her doctor. She had a dislocated and fractured shoulder. It had been dislocated so long, now it doesn’t want to stay in. She was put in some kind of a wrap to hold it in. She has been in pain all this time, and now, the Alzheimer’s is back to square one. Daddy hates doctors, so he has become a bit of a problem. He is concerned about mother, but doesn’t realize he is getting in the way. Mom is on pain meds now, unless daddy says she can’t take them anymore. Both of my sisters and I need grace and wisdom to know how to minister to them. I have talked with my parents about salvation before, but I do not know if they ever made a decision to trust Christ.
In His grace, Vic Watford

David Peoples
Please pray for David Peoples. He went on his Emmaus Walk in May, 2006, is a member of Killen UMC and is the principal of Anderson School. He has had what sounds like a stroke and has been airlifted to Huntsville Hospital. They were on the way to Huntsville with him by ambulance and then they stopped to take him by helicopter at Clements school. I'll send another email as soon as I hear anymore information.
Requests for David by Susan Cosby, and Betsy Murray

Bro. Carl Long
Please pray for Bro. Carl Long.  The results from his prostate biopsy showed a malignancy.  The doctor rated it as a 7 on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the most severe.  He gave him 2 choices:  radiation therapy or radical surgery to remove the prostate and surrounding tissue.  The doctor recommended the radiation therapy to begin with.  He has an appt. with a specialist on Friday at 10:30.  Please keep Bro. Carl and Anita in your prayers.  If you'd like to send a note of encouragement, their address is:  530 Beulah Cut Off Road, Boaz, AL  35957.

Thanks!
