Kaye Mason
Pray for Kaye Mason. She was hospitalized in ECM this afternoon with bronchial asthma. My message from Fred said that she wasn't in any danger but the doctor wanted her hospitalized for comfort measures. The acute asthma was making her tired and worn out. Her doctor is Dr. Lyman Mitchell.

Carla Crosslin
I spoke with Carla tonight (Wednesday) and she sounded exhausted. She told me she had a treatment today, and the doctor found a couple of blood clots. It was causing her significant difficulty, but she thinks, and hopes, she will be okay in time to come down Friday and do her part on the team for Walk 340. Please lift Carla in prayer during the weekend.
God's grace to you all!

Linda Brocato's mom
Thanks everyone for your prayers! I took Mom to Birmingham today to see her Multiple Sclerosis Dr. and her Neurosurgeon. They are going to slowly wean her off of the Tegretol since it makes her mind so confused, and they have added Lamictal (another seizure medication) to take it's place. They also put her on Prednisone for about a month. They feel like a lot of her pain is a side effect
of the radiation (she had a Gamma Knife Brain procedure done 5 weeks ago that is suppose to help the Trigeminal Neuralgia). At this point, they are not sure that the Gamma Knife procedure is going to be successful. We go back in 2 weeks, on September 16, for a CT scan to see if he can tell what the nerve is doing. If this medication does not work, and the Gamma Knife is unsuccesful, our only other option is to do brain surgery and clip that nerve. The worst side effect from this is that it will leave that whole side of her face numb. However, this would be better that the terrible pain she is in. Please continue to pray for her - that the medications will do their job, that the side effects won't be too severe, and she won't have to go through surgery. The doctor today said that she was "one tough bird!" She has had MS for 41 years, and despite many setbacks, she keeps fighting! God has truly blessed her, and us, in so
many ways!
I love you all, Linda Brocato
UPDATE: 09/07/2008
I'm sending this for Linda Brocato. She is w/ her mom now because she has had another episode of severe trigeminal neuralgia. She had to go to HKMH emergency room today due to the pain. She had some brief releif from Dilauded and Phenergan. They sent her home on oxycodone and now she is having episodes of pain every few minutes. Linda has talked w/ the UAB neurologist on call
and the doctor said to wait until morning and talk w/ her regular doctor. Please pray for this desperate situation. She may have to have surgery and have a nerve clipped to stop the pain.
Also, Linda's middle son, Benjamin, had a dirt bike accident yesterday and injured his right leg. He can't put any weight on it now and is to see a doc at Bone & Joint in the a.m. Pray for him, too.
We all love Linda and her family..........Lift them all up in prayer.
For Linda,
Mary Young
UPDATE: 09/08/2008
I just spoke with Dianna Hurst. Linda Brocato's mom, Josie, is scheduled to have surgery Thursday morning, and will probably be in ICU though at least Friday. This means Linda will most likely have to miss the Walk (#340) this weekend. She will be sorely missed on the walk, but we certainly affirm her in being there for her mom! Let's all keep her, her mom, and their family lifted up in prayer this weekend.
